"Take down the altar!" - Sunday September 1st, 2024

In this episode, we delve into the powerful story of Gideon from Judges 6:1-12 and explore a critical lesson for our own spiritual growth. Ever find yourself asking why God isn’t moving in your life? The answer might lie in the clutter of your heart. Just like Gideon faced a significant challenge before God could use him to achieve great victories, we too must first address the clutter in our lives. We’ll discuss how the Israelites’ suffering was rooted in their acceptance of foreign gods and customs, showing us that before God can deliver us, He needs to declutter our hearts. Discover the importance of removing the false altars and replacing them with a passionate, undivided worship of God. We'll look at Gideon’s story of breaking down his father’s altar and building a new altar to the LORD, illustrating how true worship involves both tearing down and building up. You'll hear how God’s call to declutter might feel unsettling but is necessary for bearing fruit in our lives. Are you holding onto outdated customs and beliefs? Is your heart open to passionate worship or distant and cold? This episode will challenge you to examine your own spiritual landscape and make room for God to work in powerful ways. Tune in for a compelling conversation on making space in your heart for God and understanding why decluttering is crucial for your spiritual journey.

"Expectations" - Good Ground Chapter 2 Week 4 Sunday 8-25-24

Podcast Description: We're diving into Week 4 of our series, Good Ground Chapter 2. This week, our sermon is titled "Expectations," and we're exploring how our hopes and anticipations shape our lives, especially in turbulent times. In today's episode, we’ll start by examining the frustration many feel toward political leaders and their vague promises. The real issue here isn’t just the lack of detailed plans but a deeper concern with unmet expectations. We’ll turn our focus to what the Bible says about expectations through the lens of Jesus' teachings. Discover how faith, as described in Hebrews 11:1-6, brings the future into the present and makes the invisible visible. It's not about taking a leap in the dark but walking confidently in the light of Christ. We'll explore why placing our expectations in anything or anyone other than Jesus often leads to disappointment. Using Proverbs 16:9, we’ll see that while we can make plans, it’s God who directs our steps. Only by anchoring our expectations in Christ can we confidently hope for a better tomorrow, navigate through storms, and anticipate victory. Our Heavenly Father has expectations for us, and we’ll discuss two key aspects from Luke 10:27 and Micah 6:8: loving God and our neighbors, acting justly, and walking humbly. These aren’t just moral guidelines but a reflection of a heart truly aligned with God. Finally, we’ll uncover the practical steps to plant our expectations firmly in Christ, inspired by John 15:5-7. Learn how remaining in Jesus and letting His words remain in us equips us to face any challenge with unwavering faith. Tune in to find out how to align your expectations with Christ and experience true fulfillment in every season of life.
