Were Back And Better Than Ever
In our LAST episode discussing the 2022 NFL season, and the last of year one of Tipped Balls we crack on about what’s going on in the league before the franchise tagging frenzy begins. Uncle Sam hits us with a few last awful takes, Bruce is barely awake, and Sam gets in one last rant before the boys take their hiatus. The Kelce Bowl was many things. A battle between the best offense and best defense, two great young quarterbacks, new school vs old school coaching, some questionable refereeing, a slippery slope of a field, and Pat Mahomes…being really really cute. The league MVP added another Super Bowl MVP to his trophy case while picking up some new jewelry. Sam thinks Jalen Hurts had an MVP caliber performance in the close loss, Uncle Sam blamed the grass for the Eagles lack of defensive power, and Bruce was just happy cause he was right again. We chat about some coaching changes and give our thoughts on the NFL Honors, and recap what was said on media row to end the show.
TWO. DAYS. AWAY! THE SUPER BOWL. A NATIONAL HOLIDAY. THE BIGGEST DAY IN SPORTS! But first…we discuss the polar opposite of that…The Pro Bowl Games. Which was indeed the biggest embarrassment in sports this year. All of us agree it was next to unwatchable, and sometimes vintage is good. Next, we discuss the coaching moves, QB rumors, and a slew of other news stories circulating in NFL circles. Then…we begin. Breaking down in depth this weekends game. Who will wear the crown? Sam and Uncle Sam agree…but does Bruce? You’re gonna have to listen to find out. (P.S. Brady retired. Again.)
The Super Bowl matchup we’ve all been waiting for. If the script wasn’t predictable enough, the 1 seed Chiefs vs the 1 seed Eagles will face off in the big game. We discuss Tom Brady RETIREMENT 2.0, and break down some new coaching hires. Bruce builds a shrine to Mike Danna live on air, while Uncle Sam gives major kudos to the entire Chiefs D. Sam has criticisms for the officials of the AFC championship, and the Eagles owe Kyle Shanahan and the 9ers front office a box of chocolates for their bid to the big game.
Did someone say CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND?! Before we break down the games that decide who moves on to face off for the crown, we had some business to take care of. First and foremost the coaching carousel has begun, with the Panthers bringing in Frank to solve their problems. The boys talk about the NFL Honors finalists, and pick their favorites to earn an award. Then…the PICKS. Uncle Sam and Bruce agree on their AFC and NFC Champions, but Sam disagrees wholeheartedly. Who went with who? Listen to find out.
TO ALL BILLS FANS: Just an FYI, StubHub customer service BLOWS. Good luck. The Bengals had plenty of choice words for Bills Mafia, deservedly so after the spanking they laid on them in Orchard Park this weekend. So we have a Pat Mahomes vs Joe Cool AFC Championship game again…this one should be fun. Uncle Sam pops a boner for the Eagles after they little boy the G Men, and Bruce reiterates how much Dak, Big Mike, and Jerry OG gargle cack. Is Brock Purdy for real? No. But CM22 and the 49ers D could bring a Lombardi to the Bay Area.
In a Divisional weekend that is indeed for all the marbles Sam can’t help but to buy into the parody of the NFL and believe some Giants (wink wink) will fall. We all believe in Philadelphia and Kansas City, but both Sam and The Boat believe the Bengals will knock off the Bills. Uncle Sam picks all the high seeds in his most boring and lackluster predictions of all time, and Sam shocks the world by believing the Cowboys will stun San Francisco, after a tumultuous pass rush gives Brock Purdy a mashing he won’t soon forget
