Rooted, Built Up, Established: A Rooted Life

Your root life is what sustains and produces one's lifestyle. You cannot live contrary to how rooted you are in Christ. Being rooted is foundational to the building of one's faith and life in Christ. Since coming into the new creation does not make one automatically righteous, we must take time to learn the basics of Christ, i.e. 'become rooted'. Without a stable root life your relationship with God will be surface level and you'll miss out on the deep intimate secrets, revelations, and plans of God in your life. Rooted, Built up, Established: Rooted to be Built

As we continue in our series about being rooted, built up and established it's important to look at our root life. The consequences of not being rooted in God is that you will not be able to be built up. Our roots have to sink down deep in God that He might be able to build the life of Christ in us. Maybe the reason your life doesn't reflect Christ is because you are not properly rooted in Christ and Him only. Without being rooted you also will find consistency in spending time in God's Word difficult. Without roots dug down in God we will live an inconsistent godly life. Rooted, Built Up, Established: One's Likeness

Likeness equals the kind of life you'll build. Who you are is a reflection of how well you've built yourself on the rock of Christ or the sand of the world. As we look at being built the examination of our likeness is important. To be as a wise man requires one to hear God's Word and obey. Hearing but not doing equates to one's likeness being as a foolish man. Because our likeness coming into the Earth is not Christ-like we must come to Him to have our likeness reversed. The Lordship of Jeus is how we need to regulate our life. Is Jesus Lord over your life? Does He have full control? Have you fully surrendered yourself to Him? To be steadfast in Christ requires Him being our Lord. Through the process of discipleship can our lives be properly shepherded by Christ. Rooted, Built Up, Established: Bearing Fruit

Every fruit is determined by its fruit. Last episode we talked about the importance of being rooted and digging deep. Digging it important so that God's Word can take effect in our heart: bearing fruit. We must establish ourselves to a point where God can expect good fruit from our lives. We either must make the tree of our lives good or make it bad. When our tree is good then and only then can we bear good fruit. However, if we make our tree bad then the fruit will be bad. Rooted, Built Up, Established: Being Planted

Before anything can be rooted it must first be planted. Being planted in Christ comes with first God having encountered your life so that His seed can be put in you. Without the seed, that comes by hearing the Word, being planted in our relationship with God has not officially started. Being rooted without God's seed is like the seed sown on the rocky soil. It received the Word with gladness, but when trials came it was unable to endure. Without properly being planted and then rooted our lives are unable to endure the tests and trials of life. Marriage: Bone of my Bone

After the man is made and brought to his task, God puts the man to sleep to prepare the woman. This 'sleeping' in Genesis 2 is a change in focus from the man to the 'wo-man'. The man is 'off the scene' and God is preparing the woman to come forth out of him. It is after this that the woman is finally made from the rib of the man. This shows that the woman is to be by the man's side and not behind him. The union of the man and the woman comes from the making of the woman. How a man knows that a woman is his is that she comes out of him. If a woman has not come out of the man then she is not his. It is only in recognizing this that the man called the woman "bone of my bone". With the help of the Lord we will continue to learn and study this mystery of marriage and how the man and the woman are made into husband and wife. Marriage: The Rib

Every man that God has made He designed a helper for him. The woman in Genesis 2 was made to be a suitable, adaptable, help to the assignment that God instructed the man to do. All wives are first to be made from the man. The woman is made to be the strength to the man's weakness, providing what the man is lacking. The woman is not a toy or a trophy but instead is a helping hand to help the man accomplish the will of God. If the man doesn't see the value and the purpose for the woman, he will not properly use his help to his advantage. If the woman doesn't understand how and why she was made, then she will not take her rightful place in being a help, making her a hinderance. We see the importance of the woman who came from man and was provided for man in this week's episode of This Present Truth.
