In 1840, Apostle Orson Pratt traveled to Scotland as one of the first missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Great Britain. After arriving in Edinburgh, he climbed Arthur’s Seat and prayed for the opportunity to baptize 200 people. Through persistent preaching, public discussions, and inspired writing, Pratt helped establish the Church in Scotland. His pamphlet A[n] Interesting Account of Several Remarkable Visions introduced many people to the First Vision and the Book of Mormon and became an important missionary resource worldwide. Pratt’s efforts helped thousands learn about the restored gospel and strengthened the growth of the Church throughout Great Britain.
