Does Everyone Win? Part 2

In last week's episode, Jen and Crystal discussed the two types of ground that represent two types of hearts. Neither of these produced good results. Today the discussion continues by looking at the two remaining types of ground. Jesus tells us that only one type of ground or heart produces winning results which is determined by our response to His Word. Luke 8:4-15 (TLB) 1 Peter 5:7 (NLT) - "Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you." Matthew 6:34 (NLT) - "So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today." Proverbs 12:25 (ESV) - "Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad." 1 Timothy 6:10 (TLB) - "For the love of money is the first step toward all kinds of sin. Some people have even turned away from God because of their love for it, and as a result have pierced themselves with many sorrows." Matthew 6:21 (GNT) - "For your heart will always be where your riches are." 1 John 2:15-17 (NLT) - "Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever." Matthew 6:33 (ERV) - "What you should want most is God's kingdom and doing what he wants you to do. Then he will give you all these other things you need." Proverbs 4:20-27 (NIV) Psalm 51:10-13 (AMPC) - "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me. Cast me not away from Your presence and take not Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted and return to You."

Does Everyone Win?

In this episode, Jen and Crystal discuss the four types of ground Jesus mentions in scripture. These types of ground represent the condition of a person's heart. Only one of the four types of ground produced any results in a persons life. In this first episode, they will go over the first two types of ground, and next week, they will cover the other two types of ground. Proverbs 4:23 (AMPC) - "Keep and guard your heart with all vigilance and above all that you guard, for out of it flows the springs of life." Luke 8:4-15 (TLB) Proverbs 4:20-22 (TLB) - "Listen, son of mine, to what I say. Listen carefully. Keep these thoughts ever in mind; let them penetrate deep within your heart, for they will mean real life for you and radiant health." John 10:10 (NKJV) - "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." Proverbs 28:14 (Message) - "A tenderhearted person lives a blessed life; a hardhearted person lives a hard life." Ezekiel 11:19 (AMPC) - "And I will give them one heart [a new heart] and I will put a new spirit within them; and I will take the stony [unnaturally hardened] heart out of their flesh, and will give them a heart of flesh [sensitive and responsive to the touch of their God]."

We Choose to Win

In this episode, Jen and Crystal discuss that winning is a choice. Through scripture and personal examples, they reveal that those who win are those that respond in faith. Deuteronomy 30:19-20 (NLT) - "Today, I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live! You can make this choice by loving the Lord your God, obeying Him and committing yourself firmly to Him. This is the key to your life. And if you love and obey the Lord, You will live long in the land the Lord swore to give your ancestors Abraham, Issac, and Jacob." Matthew 7:13 (ERV) - "You can enter true life only through the narrow gate. The gate to hell is very wide, and there is plenty of room on the road that leads there. Many people go that way. Having God on your side is the only way to have a true win in life." 1 John 2:14 (NIV) - "I write to you, dear children, because you know the Father. I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one." 1 John 4:4 (ESV) - "Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for He who is in you is greater than He who is in the world." 1 Corinthians 15:57 (NIV) - "But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 John 5:4 (NIV) - "For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith." Proverbs 3:5-6 (TLB) - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take." James 2:14-20 Romans 15:13 (TNL) - "I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit." Hebrews 4:3 (NLT) - "For only we who believe can enter his rest." Psalm 108:13 (GNT) - "With God on our side we will win: He will defeat our enemies." Isaiah 41:10-11 (NIV) - "Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God: I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. All who rage against you will surely be ashamed and disgraced; those who oppose you will be as nothing and perish." Deuteronomy 20:4 (ESV) - "For the Lord your God is He who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory."

The Winning God

In this episode, Jen and Crystal look at who God got the victory over, how God won, and what He won. God's victory is our victory! John 16:33 (KJV) - "These things I have spoken unto you that in Me you might have peace. In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." John 10:10 (AMP) - "The enemy comes only to steal, kill, and destroy but I have come that they might have life and life more abundantly." Psalm 8:4 (NIV) - "What is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?" Hebrews 12:2 (NLT) - "Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame." 1 Peter 2:9 (NIV) - "But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God's special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."

The Goodness of God

In this episode Jen and Crystal discuss how God is good and only good. He's not a hard, harsh God sitting in Heaven looking for who He can judge. He is a good Father who loves his children. 1 John 1:5 (NLT) - "This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in Him at all." Genesis 1:1-31 (CEV) Matthew 7:9-11 (TPT) - "Do you know of any parent who would give his hungry child, who asked for food, a plate of rocks instead? Or when asked for a piece of fish, what parent would offer his child a snake instead? If you, imperfect as you are, know how to lovingly take care of your children and give them what's best, how much more ready is your heavenly Father to give wonderful gifts to those who ask him?" Psalm 27:10 (GNT) - "Even if my mother and father leave me, the Lord will take me in." Psalm 145:9 (KJV) - "The Lord is good to all: and His tender mercies are over all His works." Psalm 34:8 (NKJV) - "Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him." Psalm 11:7 (TLB) - "For God is good, and he loves goodness; the godly shall see his face." Psalm 23:6 (NIV) - "Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." 1 Chronicles 16:34 (NIV) - "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever." James 1:17 (ERV) - "Everything good comes from God. Every perfect gift is from him. These good gifts come down from the Father who made all the lights in the sky. But God never changes like the shadows from those lights. He is always the same."

The Love of God

This episode is all about the love of God. He is a God of love and loves His children. Crystal shares a personal testimony of how the love of God helped her get free from being addicted to alcohol. Book Reference: This Son of Mine by Malcolm Smith John 3:16 (AMP) - "For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life." 1 John 3:1 (ERV) - "The Father has loved us so much! This shows how much he loved us: We are called children of God. And we really are his children." Luke 15: 11-17 (ERV) - "Then Jesus said, "There was a man who had two sons. The younger son said to his father, 'Give me now the part of your property that I am supposed to receive someday.' So the father divided his wealth between his two sons. A few days later the younger son gathered up all that he had and left. He traveled far away to another country, and there he wasted his money living like a fool. After he spent everything he had, there was a terrible famine throughout the country. He was hungry and needed money. So he went and got a job with one of the people who lived there. The man sent him into the fields to feed pigs. He was so hungry that he wanted to eat the food the pigs were eating. But no one gave him anything. The son realized that he had been very foolish. He thought, 'All my father's hired workers have plenty of food. But here I am, almost dead because I have nothing to eat. I will leave and go to my father. I will say to him: Father, I have sinned against God and have done wrong to you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son. But let me be like one of your hired workers.' So he left and went to his father. While the son was still a long way off, his father saw him coming and felt sorry for him. So he ran to him and hugged and kissed him. The son said, 'Father, I have sinned against God and have done wrong to you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.' But the father said to his servants, 'Hurry! Bring the best clothes and put them on him. Also, put a ring on his finger and good sandals on his feet. And bring our best calf and kill it so that we can celebrate with plenty to eat. My son was dead, but now he is alive again! He was lost, but now he is found!' So they began to have a party. Ephesians 3: 17-20 (TLB) - "And I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in your hearts, living within you as you trust in him. May your roots go down deep into the soil of God's marvelous love; and may you be able to feel and understand, as all God's children should, how long, how wide, how deep, and how high his love really is; and to experience this love for yourselves, though it is so great that you will never see the end of it or fully know or understand it. And so at last you will be filled up with God himself."

The Word is the Standard for Winning

In this first episode of the Winning Response Podcast, Jen and Crystal discuss the importance of the Bible being our standard. When we read the Word we are learning God's thoughts and ways, which is the foundation to having a winning response. Winning the Heart of God by Rob Thompson 1 Thessalonians 2:13 (NIV) - "And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe." Matthew 4:4 (NIV) - "Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'" Psalm 119:105 (NIV) - Your Word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." Proverbs 4:20-22 (NIV) - "My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one's whole body." Joshua 1:7-9 (AMP) - "Only you be strong and very courageous, that you may do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you. Turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success. Have not I commanded you? Be strong, vigorous, and very courageous. Be not afraid, neither be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go." Psalm 103:1-5 (NIV) - "Praise the Lord all my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name. Praise the Lord my soul, and forget not all His benefits- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's." Hebrews 4:12-13 (NIV) - "For the Word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account."
