No one prepared me
No one really prepared me for the unforeseen hardships and heartbreaks that can come with living a queer life. I was prepared for some of the basics—the questions, the coming out, the possibility of rejection, and the uncomfortable conversations. I thought I understood what it meant to step into a world where being fully myself might come with challenges. But what I wasn’t prepared for was the world I actually live in. I wasn’t prepared for the friendships that would change, the relationships that would break my heart, the people I would lose, or the moments when simply being myself could feel like an act of courage. I wasn’t prepared for the loneliness that can exist even when you’re surrounded by people who love you. And I certainly wasn’t prepared for how much strength it would take to keep choosing myself when the world sometimes makes you question whether you should. Queer life can be beautiful. It can be freeing, powerful, joyful, and filled with a community that feels like family. But there are also chapters nobody warns you about—the heartbreaks, the rejection, the identity struggles, the unexpected losses, and the moments when you wonder, “Is this really what I signed up for?” The truth is, I didn’t have all the answers. And maybe you don’t either. So today, we’re going to talk about the parts of queer life that don’t always make it into the conversation—the hard parts, the unexpected parts, and the parts that can break you open and somehow help you become more of who you were always meant to be. Because I may not have been prepared for the world I actually live in… …but I’m learning how to live in it authentically, courageously, and unapologetically. And maybe, together, we can figure it out.
Empty Promises
Have you ever been on the receiving end of empty promises? I know I have, more times than I’d like to admit. Sometimes, the disappointments we experience through work, friendships, or relationships can leave us guarded, jaded, and even a little cold. We start protecting ourselves because we don’t want to be let down again. But here’s what I’ve learned: there may not always be a way out of what you’re going through, but there is always a way through it. So, friends, today we’re going to talk about what it means to keep moving forward, keep believing, and keep your heart open even after life has given you every reason to close it.
I wanted it to end.
"We’ve all seen the headlines, and many of us have felt the weight ourselves—that dark, quiet thought that maybe it would be easier if we weren't here. Some lose that battle. But what about the ones who seem to be winning? Today, I’m pulling back the curtain on the 'happy' mask. I’m sharing a recent experience that shook me to my core, and why the most dangerous lie we tell is 'I’m fine.' This is about the life-saving power of asking for help—and making sure you’re asking the right people."
I am not Afraid
In this heartfelt episode, I take a moment to reflect on the past year — the lessons, the growth, and the challenges that shaped me. I share what it means to truly live in the present and how I’m gearing up to fight for my future with purpose and determination. Tune in for a raw, honest reflection that just might inspire your own journey.
