Episode 107: I Woke Up on the Wrong Side of the Bed… Now What? Ever wake up and just feel... off? No major crisis. No bad news. You simply wake up with a bad attitude, low motivation, or a heavy heart. In this episode of The Hall Hotline, Jon shares honestly about one of those mornings and why he decided to record anyway. We often wait until we feel motivated before we pray, read our Bible, serve others, or pursue the goals God has placed in front of us. But feelings make terrible leaders. God calls us to faithfulness, not emotional consistency. Together we'll look at how King David encouraged himself in the Lord, why our emotions don't define God's faithfulness, and how small acts of obedience can completely change the direction of an ordinary day. If you're having one of those mornings where you just don't feel like showing up, this episode is for you. Episode 106: Daily Devotional – Are You Busy… or Are You Bearing Fruit? We live in a world that celebrates being busy. Full calendars, endless commitments, side hustles, church activities, kids' sports, the gym, volunteering—we often equate a packed schedule with a meaningful life. But is that how God measures success? In this episode, we take a look at what Scripture says about busyness, priorities, and living a life that bears lasting fruit. Even good things can become distractions if they crowd out our relationship with God and the people He has entrusted to us. We'll explore how Jesus, despite constant demands on His time, intentionally withdrew to spend time with His Father and never allowed the urgent to replace the important. Scriptures discussed: Psalm 46:10 (NIV) — "Be still, and know that I am God." Mark 1:35 (NIV) — Jesus withdraws to a solitary place to pray. Ephesians 5:15–16 (NIV) — "Be very careful, then, how you live... making the most of every opportunity." We'll also ask some challenging questions: Does your calendar reflect your priorities? Are you giving God your first and best—or your leftovers? Does your family get the best of you, or what's left of you? What commitment do you need to say "no" to so you can say "yes" to what matters most? Today's Challenge: Spend 10 minutes looking at your calendar. Ask yourself if your schedule reflects the life God is calling you to live. Remember: God isn't impressed by how busy you are—He's interested in how faithful you are. Stand firm. Answer the call. Live with purpose.

Does God really need 10% of your paycheck? Is tithing still required for Christians, or is giving about something much deeper? In this episode, Jon shares his personal story of being laid off in 2009 and how God used that difficult season to teach him what it truly means to trust Him. Daily Devotional: God gives us free will, but Satan manipulates it
Have you ever heard someone say, "The devil made me do it?" While it's a common expression, it's not what the Bible teaches. In this episode, Jon discusses a thought-provoking statement from his friend David Marshall: "God gives us free will, but Satan manipulates it." God created us with the freedom to choose because genuine love cannot be forced. Satan, however, cannot override our free will. Instead, he lies, deceives, and twists God's truth in an attempt to influence our decisions. Looking at Joshua 24:15, John 8:44, and the deception of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden, you'll discover how the enemy still uses the same strategy today and why every decision we make is influenced by the voice we choose to follow. Today's challenge is simple but powerful: before making an important decision, pause and ask yourself, "Is this decision based on God's truth, or is it based on a lie I've started believing?" Daily Devotional: The Demons Recognized Jesus… Why Didn't the Religious Leaders?
Pastor Joby Martin recently made a statement that stopped me in my tracks: "The demons are always the first ones to recognize Jesus and the religious people are always last." Is that really true? In this episode, we explore several powerful passages of Scripture that reveal a sobering truth: the demons knew exactly who Jesus was, while many of the religious leaders completely missed Him. We discuss the demon-possessed boy in Mark 9, why the disciples couldn't cast out the demon, and the danger of trying to do God's work in our own strength instead of depending on prayer. Then we look at multiple passages where demons immediately identify Jesus as the Holy One of God and the Son of God, while the religious leaders struggle to see the Messiah standing right in front of them. Finally, we ask an uncomfortable but important question: Is it possible to be religious and still miss Jesus? Today's Challenge: Open your Bible and read a Gospel passage with fresh eyes today. Read it as if you've never heard the story before. Ask yourself: What does this passage teach me about Jesus? Is there anything here that challenges my thinking? Is there something Jesus is asking me to surrender or change? Then pray: "Lord, reveal any tradition, pride, or preconceived idea that is keeping me from seeing You clearly. Help me know You for who You truly are and follow wherever You lead." Daily Devotional: Fully Surrender – Let Go and Let God
Most of us want Jesus to be our Savior, but surrendering to Him as Lord is a completely different story. We want God to bless our plans, solve our problems, and answer our prayers. But full surrender means laying down our plans and praying the same prayer Jesus prayed: "Not my will, but Yours be done." In this episode, we talk about what biblical surrender really looks like and why it's so difficult to let go of control. We explore powerful examples of surrender from Scripture, including Abraham, Peter, Paul, and Mary, and discuss what it means to trust God with every area of our lives. Because the Christian life isn't about adding Jesus to our schedule. It's about giving Him our lives.
