The Horned Goddess - Satanic or Divine?

#hornedgoddess #deergoddess #shahziasikander Inspired by the 'Satanic" accusations of Shahzia Sikander's gold horned goddess exhibition in NYC titled "Now" this episode dives into the history of ram gods and deer goddesses. How did these nature divinities become associated with Satan and devil worship? How were horn gods and antler goddess perceived in the past and why did they loose their wild and benevolent natures? Join me, and lets talk about all the ways we have been robbed of a lush and powerful history all the while indoctrinated with fears of demons, witchcraft and all the things that go bump in the night. ▶️ TAKE A GODDESS COURSE WITH ME! ▶️ https://artemisexpert.disco.co GET MY BOOK! ▶️ https://www.amazon.com/She-Who-Hunts-... ▶️ABOUT THE BOOK: She Who Hunts by Dr. Carla Ionescu SHE WHO HUNTS explores the ancient Greek Goddess Artemis through myths, history, legends, and folklore, with vivid and detailed archeological and historical evidence showing that rather than just a simple "maiden" Goddess or "virgin in the woods", ARTEMIS was one of the most prevalent and influential goddesses of the Mediterranean, playing a fundamental role in the communal, political and ritual development of the Greco-Roman world. HER worship can be traced to a time before the Minoans, and her rituals include all facets of the human experience, from birth rituals to rites of passage, to death and beyond. Her protection for those who honour her is all encompassing, her vengeance for those who cross her is swift and fatal. Dr. Ionescu’s work is a labour of love and research, born out of her long-standing certainty that Artemis was the most prevalent and influential goddess of the Mediterranean. ▶️COME JOIN ME! ______________________________________________________ WEBSITE: https://artemisresearchcentre.com/ NEWSLETTER: https://artemisresearchcentre.com/new... ▶️FOLLOW ▶️ Let's Get Social! ___________________________________________ TWITTER: https://twitter.com/thegoddessproj4 INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/goddessproj... GODDESS TALKS - PaGaian Cosmology and Goddess Religion with Dr. Glenys Livingstone

Goddess Talks is a short series of interviews with Goddess scholars and practitioners where we informally discuss all things ancient, sacred and divinely feminine. This week I had the pleasure to talk to Dr. Glenys Livingstone. Dr. Livingstone has been on a Goddess path since 1979. She is the author of "PaGaian Cosmology: Re-inventing Earth-based Goddess Religion," which fuses the indigenous traditions of Old Europe with scientific theory, feminism, and a poetic relationship with place. She was born and lives in country Australia, where she has facilitated Seasonal ceremony for decades, taught classes, and mentored apprentices. She is the author of the children’s book "My Name is Medusa, "and co-editor of the anthology "Re-visioning Medusa: from Monster to Divine Wisdom." Glenys teaches a year-long course "Celebrating Cosmogenesis in the Wheel of the Year" for both hemispheres. Her website is http://pagaian.org

Persephone - Queen of the Underworld

#persephone #greekmythology #queenoftheunderworld One of the most powerful divinities of the ancient world, Persephone is the queen of darkness and light. So fierce was her rule that the ancients refused to say her name out loud, and referred to her only as 'maiden' or 'mistress'. She ruled the souls of the dead and returned each spring to bring life. Abducted by Hades, and rescued by her Titan mother, Persephone is a goddess of survival and evolution. Through her the ancients were able to navigate the cold and torturous lands of Tartarus (the death chambers). She was the only light in the darkness, the saviour that offered salvation, the shelter from the storm. Join me, and lets view Persephone for the powerhouse she became despite the desires of her husband, or the demands of her mother. #littlemermaid #greekmythology #sirens #wildwomen How did the Greek sirens of old, half-bird half-maiden, become the mermaids of modern lore, half-fish, half-seductress? Fortuna - May The Odds Be Ever in Your Favour

#fortune #luckfavoursthebrave How much of our lives is left to chance? When life got tough, or when things went supremely well, the Romans turned to their favourite goddess Fortuna to praise, or blame, for their fortunes. Her power over abundance, fate and the rise and fall of empires large and small was unchallenged. She was the gatekeeper of random failure and success, and as such, the most powerful deity of all. Join me, and let's talk about how Fortuna continues to influence and motivate our modern world, and how we are still, for better or worse, victims to her blind, untethered charms. Aphrodite - The Ultimate Femme Fatale

#aphrodite Why is beauty so frightening? Join in me looking at how Aphrodite defied all ancient gender norms and expectations of domesticity. A wife and mother unlike any other, the goddess of love and sex feared no one and let no one trap her in the expectations of her gender. While Aphrodite is most commonly known as Venus in the modern world, little is ever discussed about her tragic love affair with Ares, her forced marriage to Hephaestus and her celebrated coupling with Hermes. And that's before we get to her children! Mother of divine and mortal children, Aphrodite is a symbol of all aspects of the divine feminine, from fertility to fierceness. Let's talk about all the ways she had been overthrowing the patriarchy since the beginning of time :) ▶️ TAKE A GODDESS COURSE WITH ME!
