Chicano artist, muralist and activist Fabian Debora is a shining example of channeling pain into purpose. Born to parents who immigrated from Mexico, Fabian’s upbringing was molded through poverty, gang exposure, drug addiction and attempted suicide. His story could have ended before it began. But in a pivotal moment of vulnerability, Fabian entered recovery and it changed his life. He went through the intervention program at a growing organization called Homeboy Industries. Under the guidance of Father Greg Boyle, aka Father G, Fabian became a substance abuse counselor and began re-connecting with the love that kept him safe throughout his traumatic young life-art.
