"I remember the moment we both could've made a better decision..."

I met Jess in the party scene in my early 20s. Her presence always captivated everyone in the room, and confidence seemed to drip off of her. A decade later I found out that she was in recovery from meth, and later found out that she turned to drugs because of lack of confidence and self-acceptance. In this episode she shares not only about her struggle and recovery from meth, but also her journey of self-acceptance.

I've had the privilege of witnessing Tia transition into a beautiful, confident woman. In this episode she talks about how the world treated her when they viewed her as a black man, and how the world treats her now that she is her authentic self. My pastor, Jonny Rashid, talks about his racist experiences as an Arab American, as well as coming out publicly before coming out to his family. In his book, Jesus Takes a Side, he talks about how Christians not only need to take a political side, but need to take the side that chooses love and liberation, and not death and oppression.
