Upstate New York, 1820s. Three weeks before Charles Finney arrived in any town, a man named Daniel Nash arrived first — and locked himself in a back room to groan in prayer until heaven opened. When Nash died, Finney's revivals died with him. This is the chapter on the ministry of intercession.
