In this spoiler-heavy review, I break down why Matt Damon’s Odysseus never fully convinced me as the legendary warrior, master strategist, and deeply emotional hero from Homer’s epic.
We also discuss the film’s overwhelming sound mix, frantic editing, underused IMAX photography, modern themes, unusual casting choices, and the rushed “island, disaster, run back to the ship” structure.
And yes, I’m making the possibly unforgivable argument that Christopher Nolan may have more in common with Michael Bay than his fans would ever admit.
