Geek Down - Punky Brewster, Boss Level, Mirador, Breaklands

Frank Grillo is stuck pressing restart in Boss Level, bleeding out through the exact same time loop until he finally masters the cheat codes. We carry that high-stakes energy straight into Mirador, breaking down how players gear up and throw hands with towering mechanical sentinels. Then we hit the dusty wasteland pages of Breaklands, where telekinetic outlaws run the block. To round it all out, we’re checking if the Punky Brewster revival actually delivers or if childhood nostalgia should have stayed left alone. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you liked this episode and want to help us make more in the future, we'd be hella grateful for a small donation via this link https://www.buymeacoffee.com/villainswtf (no pressure of course - we'll be making the best content we can regardless) 🤘 Become a patron too for longer format episodes, bonus shows, and more! https://www.patreon.com/cw/VillainsWTF And all our sister shows @ https://www.villains.wtf

Geek Down - Lightyear, Cross to Bear, Jerry & Marge Go Large

Lightyear zooms in with that classic space ranger origin story, but we’re breaking down whether it’s a stellar ride or just a launch that fizzles. Then we crack open Cross to Bear from Aftershock Comics—a graphic novel that digs deep into raw, bloody drama with a protagonist carrying some serious weight, and we’re reading between every bruised panel. And for the feel-good flex, Jerry & Marge Go Large turns a retiree lottery loophole into a warm, sharp-witted heist, and we’re diving into how that real-life hustle plays on screen.

Geek Down - Pacific Rim the Black, Spy Island, Pixie, Basketball Arena

Olivia Cooke goes full Irish gangster in Pixie—does this crime caper bring the heat or just get lost in the sauce? Then we’re hitting the court with Basketball Arena, the mobile game that’s all about those quick plays and big wins—no half-court shots here. Spy Island drops next, turning the whole island into a playground for spies, and we’re breaking down if it’s a smooth op or just a hot mess. And Pacific Rim: The Black brings the kaiju chaos to anime—does it live up to the hype or just get crushed under its own weight? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you liked this episode and want to help us make more in the future, we'd be hella grateful for a small donation via this link https://www.buymeacoffee.com/villainswtf (no pressure of course - we'll be making the best content we can regardless) 🤘 Become a patron too for longer format episodes, bonus shows, and more! https://www.patreon.com/cw/VillainsWTF And all our sister shows @ https://www.villains.wtf

Geek Down - Superintelligence, Belle Targeted Prey, The Hardy Boys [pt.1]

Melissa McCarthy vs. a rogue A.I. in Superintelligence—does this tech comedy hit the mark or just glitch out? Then we’re getting into Belle: Targeted Prey, where fairy tales get a dark twist and the princess isn’t playing around. And The Hardy Boys are back, solving mysteries with a fresh coat of paint—does it hold up or just feel like a cash grab? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you liked this episode and want to help us make more in the future, we'd be hella grateful for a small donation via this link https://www.buymeacoffee.com/villainswtf (no pressure of course - we'll be making the best content we can regardless) 🤘 Become a patron too for longer format episodes, bonus shows, and more! https://www.patreon.com/cw/VillainsWTF And all our sister shows @ https://www.villains.wtf

Geek Down - Jurassic World Dominion, Freshly Frosted, The Baby

Alright, let’s get into it—Jurassic World Dominion is back with dinosaurs running wild, but does it actually bring the thunder or just more prehistoric fluff? Then we’re diving into Freshly Frosted, the deceptively chill puzzle game that’s all about donut chaos and sweet, sweet strategy—because who doesn’t love a good pastry heist? And last but not least, the twisted horror-comedy The Baby is here to creep you out. Its slow-burn horror that’ll make you side-eye every infant in sight. We’re breaking it all down --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you liked this episode and want to help us make more in the future, we'd be hella grateful for a small donation via this link https://www.buymeacoffee.com/villainswtf (no pressure of course - we'll be making the best content we can regardless) 🤘 Become a patron too for longer format episodes, bonus shows, and more! https://www.patreon.com/cw/VillainsWTF And all our sister shows @ https://www.villains.wtf

Geek Down - Mortal Kombat, Nobody, Dead Day

Mortal Kombat brings the blood-soaked tournament to the big screen with gory glory and fatality-level hype—these fighters don't play. Then we're flipping through Dead Day, the comic series where the dead rise for one night each year, and it hits way harder than a simple zombie romp with its twisted small-town dread. And finally, Bob Odenkirk's Nobody is the sleeper hit that smacks you in the jaw—a quiet suburban dad turning into a stone-cold wrecking ball with pure, gritty satisfaction.

Geek Down - Irma Vep, The Heathens, American Carnage

Some films are so good they mess with your head, sometimes they're so entertaining you'll let them get away with anything — big ups to Irma Vep for being brave enough to do neither. Blurring the lines between "why did they make this?" and "why subject me to it?", this movie brings the weird and we bring it to you! The comic series The Heathens assembles history’s wildest outlaws, all with plenty of blood on their hands, for a mission worthy of their sins. To cap it off, American Carnage turns immigration politics into a bloody social satire with enough grindhouse gore to split your lip. From arthouse delirium to pulp pages to splattered chaos, we've got the receipts.

Geek Down - Loki, Black Widow, Miskatonic, Escape Room：Tournament of Champions

Black Widow finally gets her own solo op, and the drama cuts deeper than most spy thrillers that don't star Tom Cruise. Loki turns the multiverse into a personal playground, and his... excuse me -- their chaotic charisma is pure gas. Miskatonic drags Lovecraftian dread into a comic series that refuses to let go. Escape Room: Tournament of Champions throws the survivors back into the trap, and the puzzles are just as deadly as sitting through this film. Four corners of pop culture, one blunt rundown.

Geek Down - Halo, Operation Mincemeat, Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers

Operation Mincemeat? A dead body runs the ultimate scam—and somehow that’s the smoothest part of the story. The film plays it straight, but real talk it's just a very British way to waste a corpse. Halo rocks the budget but leaves the Chief’s visor feeling hollow (prolly because ain't no one wearing the damn thing!) And Chip ’n Dale? Sometimes some crimes go slipping through the cracks, but this reboot is picking up the slack -- it's a self-aware circus that actually lands the landing.

Geek Down - Doctor Strange Multiverse of Madness, The Takedown, Moon Knight, Last Man Down

We ran through the multiverse so you don’t have to. Multiverse of Madness is less a spell and more a sanity check, but Sam Raimi’s fingerprints keep it from flatlining. Oscar Isaac carried Moon Knight on his back, doing all the heavy lifting for a script that refused to match his effort. Last Man Down brings survival grit and old-school muscle. We also finesse The Takedown, a buddy flick that knows its lane and stays in it with sharp chemistry and Omar Sy's charm.
