Notas del episodio
President Donald J. Trump's remarks welcoming President Xi Jinping of China and Madam Peng Liyuan to the White House for a formal state visit in Washington, D.C., followed by remarks from President Xi. Both leaders' remarks were delivered with consecutive interpretation between English and Chinese.
The President noted that President Xi is the first Chinese leader to make a second formal state visit to the United States, and that this is their first meeting together at the White House. He cited the Board of Trade created during his May visit to Beijing, work toward a more balanced trading relationship including new market access for American farmers and ranchers, and upcoming discussions on security, technology, and super intelligence. He also recalled American and Chinese cooperation during World War II, including the Flying Tigers.
President Xi called for a constructive China-U.S. relationship of strategic stability and for cooperation on artificial intelligence, counter-narcotics, law enforcement, and more direct flights. He announced an invitation for 100,000 young Americans to visit China for exchanges and study over the next five years, and said two giant pandas will soon arrive at Zoo Atlanta.
