Inspired by Dr. Melinda Chen’s new book, Killing Radicalism: Anti-Rape Advocacy Reimagined, this episodes explores how the myriad “threads” of anti-rape activism over the centuries create a “tapestry” of anti-violence advocacy—and what they mean for the futures of the movement. Rather than replicate periodical histories, i.e., going by century or by decade, each “thread” involves distinct social identity-based organizing collectives, such as queer and trans* liberation, racial equity, decolonization and sovereignty, and immigrant justice, and how each grouping approached issues of sexual violence.
