Episode 48: When You're Sad Or Lonely

Hey friends, welcome back to Strong and Courageous! Have you ever felt really sad or even lonely, like no one understands what you’re going through? Maybe a friend hurt your feelings, or maybe you just felt left out. We all have those days. The Bible says in Psalm 34:18, ‘The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.’ That means when you’re hurting, God doesn’t stand far away—He comes closer. When you cry, He sees your tears. When you feel lonely, He reminds you that you’re never really alone. You can talk to Him about your feelings, and He promises to be near. Even if people don’t understand, God always does. So the next time you feel sad or left out, remember—you are never alone. Jesus is right there with you.

Episode 47: When You Feel The Pressure To Fit In

Hey friends, welcome back to Strong and Courageous! Do you ever feel pressure to fit in? Maybe everyone at school is wearing the same shoes, saying the same things, or even doing something you know isn’t right. It can feel really hard to stand out when everyone else is going the same way. The Bible says in Romans 12:2, ‘Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.’ That word conform means just copying what everyone else does, even if it’s wrong. God didn’t make you to be a copy—He made you to be unique! Instead of squeezing into the world’s mold, God wants us to be different—to love, to forgive, to do what’s right even if it’s not popular. Fitting in might make you feel accepted for a moment, but following Jesus makes you shine forever. Remember, you weren’t made to blend in—you were made to stand out for Him.

Episode 46: When You're Angry

Hey friends, welcome back to Strong and Courageous! Can I be honest? Sometimes I get angry. Maybe someone cuts in line, maybe a friend says something mean, or maybe I just feel frustrated inside. Do you ever feel that way? We all do! But the Bible gives us a really good reminder about how to handle anger. James 1:19 says, ‘Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.’ That means when something makes us upset, we don’t have to explode. Instead, we can take a deep breath, listen, and ask God to help us respond with kindness. Being angry isn’t always wrong—Jesus got angry when people were being treated unfairly. But what matters is what we do with our anger. Do we yell and hurt others? Or do we pause and choose self-control? With God’s help, we can be slow to anger and quick to love.

Episode 45: Samuel Hears God's Voice

Hey friends, welcome back to Strong and Courageous! Have you ever woken up at night because you thought you heard something? Today’s story is about a boy named Samuel who really did hear someone calling his name—and it was God! In 1 Samuel chapter 3, Samuel was just a boy serving in the temple with Eli the priest. One night, while Samuel was lying down, he heard a voice call, ‘Samuel!’ He ran to Eli and said, ‘Here I am, you called me!’ But Eli said, ‘I didn’t call you. Go back to bed.’ This happened again—and again! Finally, Eli realized it was God calling Samuel. He told Samuel, If you hear the voice again, say, “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.” So the next time God called, Samuel answered, ‘Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.’ And from then on, Samuel grew up to be a great prophet who heard God’s voice. This story reminds us that God speaks—not just to grown-ups, but to kids too. We may not hear an audible voice, but God speaks through His Word, through prayer, and through His Spirit in our hearts. The question is—are we listening? Today, take a quiet moment and say, ‘Speak, Lord, I’m listening.’ God loves to hear that. ‘Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.’ 1 Samuel 3:9

Episode 44: Hannah's Prayer

Hey friends, welcome back to Strong and Courageous! Have you ever wanted something so badly that you prayed and prayed for it? Today’s story is about a woman named Hannah, who showed us what it looks like to pray with all your heart. In 1 Samuel chapter 1, Hannah really wanted to have a child, but she couldn’t. It made her very sad, and people even teased her about it. One day, she went to the temple and prayed with tears. She prayed so hard that the priest thought she was just mumbling! But God saw her heart. Later, God answered her prayer and gave her a son, Samuel. And Hannah kept her promise to God—she dedicated Samuel to the Lord, and he grew up to be a great prophet.” Hannah’s story reminds us that God always hears our prayers, even when they are quiet or full of tears. Sometimes God answers ‘yes,’ sometimes ‘no,’ and sometimes ‘wait.’ But He always listens, and He cares about what’s on our hearts. You can pray about anything—big or small—and trust that God hears you. ‘In her deep anguish Hannah prayed to the Lord, weeping bitterly.’ 1 Samuel 1:10

Episode 43: Jesus Heals The Ten Lepers

Hey friends, welcome back to Strong and Courageous! Have you ever forgotten to say ‘thank you’? Maybe your mom made your favorite dinner, or a friend shared a snack, and you forgot to say it. Well, today’s story is about a group of men who got healed by Jesus—but only one remembered to say thank you. In Luke 17, ten men had leprosy, a terrible skin disease. They had to live outside the city and couldn’t be around other people. When they saw Jesus, they called out, ‘Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!’ Jesus told them to go show themselves to the priests. And as they went, they were healed! All ten were made clean. But only one man came back to Jesus, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked Him. And Jesus said, ‘Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine?’ Then He told the thankful man, ‘Rise and go; your faith has made you well.’

Episode 42: When You Feel Small

Hi friends, welcome back to Strong and Courageous! Do you ever feel small? Maybe you’re the youngest in your class, or maybe you feel like your voice doesn’t matter compared to others. Sometimes it can feel like being young means you can’t do much. But God sees you differently. The Bible says in 1 Timothy 4:12, ‘Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.’ That means you don’t have to wait until you’re older to live for God. You can show kindness right now. You can be a leader by how you speak, how you act, and how you love others. Even small actions—like inviting a friend to church, saying a kind word, or choosing honesty—make a big difference. You might feel small, but with God, you are mighty.

Episode 41: When You're Tempted To Quit

Hey friends, welcome back to Strong and Courageous! Have you ever wanted to quit something? Maybe homework feels too hard, practice is tiring or being kind to someone who isn’t nice feels impossible. We’ve all felt that way. The Bible says in Galatians 6:9, ‘Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.’ That verse means this—when we keep going, even when it’s tough, God promises it will be worth it. Think about planting a seed. You don’t see fruit right away, but if you water it and wait, something amazing grows. It’s the same with doing good. Keep showing kindness, keep trying your best, keep trusting God—even when you feel like quitting. God sees your effort, and He’s growing something in you.

Episode 40: The Woman Who Touched Jesus' Cloak

Hey friends, welcome back to Strong and Courageous! Have you ever felt sick or hurt and really wished someone could help you feel better? Today’s story is about a woman who believed Jesus could help her—even if she only touched His clothes. In Mark chapter 5, there was a woman who had been sick for twelve years. No doctor could help her. She was weak, tired, and probably felt very alone. But she heard about Jesus. She thought, ‘If I can just touch His cloak, I will be healed.’ So she pushed through the crowd, reached out, and touched the edge of His robe. Right away, she was healed! Jesus stopped and asked, ‘Who touched me?’ The woman was scared, but she admitted it was her. Then Jesus said, ‘Daughter, your faith has healed you. Go in peace and be freed from your suffering.’ That’s how powerful Jesus is! She didn’t even need Him to pray out loud—just one touch of faith was enough. Sometimes we feel small, weak, or like our problems don’t matter. But Jesus sees us. He cares. Even the tiniest bit of faith—just believing He can help—makes a difference.

Episode 39: The Widow's Oil

Hey friends! Welcome back to Strong and Courageous. Today’s story comes from 2 Kings 4, and it’s about a woman who thought she had nothing—but God showed her He can do a lot with a little. There was a widow who was very poor. She had no money, and she only had a small jar of oil left. The prophet Elisha told her, ‘Go and borrow as many empty jars as you can from your neighbors. Don’t just get a few—get a lot!’ So she and her sons gathered jars from all over the neighborhood. Then, she started pouring her little bit of oil into the jars. And something amazing happened—the oil never ran out! Every jar was filled until there were no jars left. God had provided more than enough.
