Episode 68: Be Content With What You Have

Hey friends! Welcome back to Strong and Courageous! Have you ever wanted more — maybe a new game, a new phone, or something someone else has — and forgot to thank God for what’s already in your hands? It happens to all of us. Sometimes we get so focused on what’s next that we miss how good we have it right now. A long time ago, God rescued the Israelites from being slaves in Egypt. He promised to take them to a new land — a place full of blessings. But on the way there, they had to travel through a big, hot desert. There wasn’t a drive-thru or grocery store anywhere — so the people started to complain, “We’re hungry! We should’ve stayed in Egypt!” Even though they complained, God still took care of them. Every morning, when they woke up, something amazing was on the ground — thin flakes that looked like bread. It was called manna. It was sweet, and it was just what they needed every single day. But after a while, they got tired of it. They started saying, “We want something different! We don’t want manna anymore!” They forgot that it was a miracle — food straight from Heaven! It’s easy to look at what we don’t have and miss the miracle that’s already in front of us. Don’t miss today’s blessings because you’re wishing for tomorrow’s. When your heart is thankful, what you have becomes enough. God gives us what we need every day — and that’s something to be grateful for.

Episode 67: God Works In The Waiting

Hey friends! Welcome back to Strong and Courageous! Have you ever felt like you were stuck waiting for something to change — maybe waiting for a prayer to be answered or for life to get better? Waiting can be really hard, especially when it feels like nothing’s happening. But even in the waiting, God is still working. In the Bible, there was a man named Joseph. He loved God and always tried to do the right thing — but one day, he was thrown into prison for something he didn’t even do. Imagine that. You try your best to be good, and still end up in a place that feels dark, lonely, and unfair. That’s how Joseph must’ve felt. But here’s what’s amazing: even in that prison, Joseph kept trusting God. He didn’t give up. He helped others, and God gave him favor — even in that difficult place. Joseph didn’t know how long he’d have to wait, but God was using that season to prepare him for something greater. When the time was right, Joseph’s waiting ended — and God brought him out and into his purpose. Waiting isn’t easy, but it’s never wasted. Just because you can’t see what God is doing doesn’t mean He isn’t working. Sometimes the hardest seasons grow the strongest faith.

Episode 66: Don't Trade Your Blessing For A Bowl

Hey friends! Welcome back to Strong and Courageous! Have you ever been so hungry that you just couldn’t wait to eat? Maybe you skipped breakfast, and by lunchtime, you were ready to eat anything. That’s kind of what happened to a guy in the Bible named Esau — except his hunger didn’t just cost him lunch… it cost him something much bigger. Esau and Jacob were twin brothers, but Esau was born first. Back then, that meant Esau had something called a birthright — a special blessing and inheritance given to the oldest son. It meant leadership, land, and God’s favor for generations. It was a big deal. One day, Esau came home from hunting, starving. His brother Jacob was cooking a pot of stew, and it smelled so good. Esau said, “Quick! Give me some of that stew!” Jacob saw a chance and said, “I’ll trade you — my stew for your birthright.” You’d think Esau would laugh and say, “No way!” But he didn’t. He said, “I’m starving — what good is a birthright if I die of hunger?” So he traded his blessing for a bowl of soup. It sounds crazy, right? But sometimes we do the same thing. We give in to temptation for something that feels good right now and forget about what really matters later. Maybe we trade honesty for a quick lie to stay out of trouble. Maybe we trade purity, kindness, or obedience to God just to fit in. Those choices might feel good for a moment, but they can cost us big blessings down the road. Don’t trade what’s valuable for what’s temporary. When temptation comes, remember: the enemy loves to offer “quick bowls of stew” that look satisfying — but God’s blessings are worth waiting for. Hold on to your faith. Don’t sell out your future for something small today.

Episode 65: God Is With You In The Fire

Hey friends! Welcome back to Strong and Courageous! Have you ever been in a situation where you felt pressure to fit in — maybe everyone around you was doing something you knew wasn’t right, and you didn’t want to be the only one to stand out? It’s not easy to go against the crowd, but sometimes following God means standing firm even when it’s hard. Today, we’re talking about three brave young men who did exactly that — and how God showed up in the middle of the fire. A long time ago, there was a king named Nebuchadnezzar who built a giant golden statue. It was huge — taller than a building! And the king made a rule: when the music played, everyone had to bow down and worship it. Anyone who refused would be thrown into a blazing furnace. Now, three young men — Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego — loved God and followed His ways. When the music played, everyone else bowed down… except them. They stood tall. The king was furious. He gave them one more chance and said, “If you don’t bow, you’ll be thrown into the fire.” But they answered with courage: “We don’t need to defend ourselves. The God we serve is able to save us. But even if He doesn’t, we will not bow.” Wow — that’s real faith. The king was so angry that he made the fire seven times hotter and threw them in. The flames were roaring, but then something amazing happened. When the king looked into the fire, he saw not three men — but four! The fourth looked like “a son of God.” God was right there with them in the fire. And when the men came out, they weren’t burned, their clothes weren’t damaged — they didn’t even smell like smoke! Sometimes God doesn’t take away the fire — but He promises to be with you in it. When life feels hard, when people don’t understand your faith, when standing for God feels lonely — remember this: you are never alone. God stands with you in every “fire” you face.

Episode 64: God Is Greater Than The Storm

Hey friends! Welcome back to Strong and Courageous! Have you ever been scared during a storm? Maybe the thunder was so loud it shook the windows, or lightning flashed so bright it lit up your whole room. Sometimes, when things get dark and noisy, it’s easy to feel afraid — not just of storms outside, but of the “storms” in our lives too. Maybe something at school is hard, or a friendship is rocky, or someone you love is sick. Those can all feel like storms. Let’s talk about a time when Jesus’ friends faced a real storm — and what He did to show them He’s greater than all of it. One evening, Jesus and His disciples got into a boat to cross a big lake. The water was calm when they started, and Jesus was so tired from teaching and helping people all day that He fell asleep. But as they sailed, the wind started to blow harder and harder. Dark clouds covered the sky, and soon waves were crashing into the boat. Water splashed everywhere — the disciples were drenched and terrified! They shouted, “We’re going to drown!” Meanwhile… Jesus was still asleep. The disciples shook Him and yelled, “Teacher! Don’t you care that we’re about to die?” Jesus stood up, looked at the waves, and said, “Peace. Be still.” And just like that — the wind stopped. The waves calmed. The storm was completely quiet. The disciples couldn’t believe what they saw. Even the wind and the waves obeyed Jesus! They realized something powerful that night: when Jesus is in your boat, you don’t have to be afraid of the storm. We all face storms — not just with thunder and lightning, but the kind that happens in our hearts. Maybe you’re worried, hurt, or unsure about something. But no matter what the storm looks like, Jesus is stronger. He’s with you. And He can bring peace to your heart, just like He did that night on the sea. When life feels out of control, remember — Jesus is still in control.

Episode 63: God Turns Broken Into Beautiful

Hey friends! Welcome back to Strong and Courageous! Have you ever broken something really special — maybe your favorite toy, a bracelet, or something you made — and thought, “It’s ruined”? Sometimes our hearts can feel like that, too. We make mistakes, we mess up, or we feel like we don’t fit in anymore. But I want to tell you a story about a woman Jesus met who felt exactly like that. One hot afternoon, Jesus was walking through a place called Samaria. He stopped by a well to rest, and a woman came to get water. Now, here’s the thing — most people came to get water early in the morning when it was cool, but she came at noon, when the sun was blazing. You know why? Because she didn’t want to see anyone. She had made a lot of mistakes in her life, and people in her town talked about her. They looked down on her. But Jesus didn’t ignore her. He started talking to her — which surprised her, because back then, men usually didn’t talk to women like that, and especially not to someone everyone else avoided. Jesus told her that He knew everything about her — every mistake, every secret, every hurt — and instead of judging her, He offered her something amazing: living water. He meant new life, the kind that only comes from knowing Him. Suddenly, she realized: this was no ordinary man. This was the Savior! She was so excited that she ran back to her town — the same people who used to whisper about her — and she told everyone, “Come and see the man who told me everything I ever did!” And you know what? Because of her story, many people came to believe in Jesus. God didn’t cancel her because of her past — He redeemed her story. And He can do the same for you. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or how broken you feel. When you come to Jesus, He can turn your broken pieces into something beautiful.

Episode 62: Be Grateful All The Time

Hey friends! Welcome back to Strong and Courageous! Today, we’re learning about gratitude. Have you ever gotten a gift or a treat and felt really happy? Being thankful is about noticing and appreciating the good things God gives us every day. 📖 Verse: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says: ‘Give thanks in all circumstances.’ Being thankful isn’t just about saying ‘thanks’ when you get something. It’s about having a heart that notices God’s blessings, even on hard days. Gratitude makes our hearts joyful and helps us see God at work everywhere. Practice thankfulness every day, even for small things.

Episode 61: Worship Through The Storm

📖 Job 1:21 — “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” Job had everything — a family, success, wealth — and then in one day, he lost it all. Most people would’ve turned their back on God. But Job did something shocking. He fell to the ground… and worshiped. He didn’t pretend it didn’t hurt. He cried, grieved, and asked questions — but even through tears, he said, “Blessed be the name of the Lord.” That’s powerful faith. Because worship isn’t just for the good days — it’s for the painful ones too. Sometimes we think we can only praise God when everything’s going right, but Job teaches us that worship in the storm is the purest kind.

Episode 60: We Need Each Other

📖 Exodus 17:8–13 In Exodus 17, the Israelites were in a battle against the Amalekites. Moses went up on a hill to watch the fight, and God gave him a strange instruction — as long as Moses kept his hands lifted, Israel would win. So he raised his hands — but after a while, they got heavy. His arms started to shake. Every time he lowered them, the enemy began to win again. That’s when two men — Aaron and Hur — stepped in. They brought a rock for Moses to sit on and stood on either side of him, holding up his hands. And as long as they held him up, the Israelites kept winning. What a picture of what faith looks like when we’re tired. Because let’s be honest — sometimes we all get weary. We want to pray, believe, and keep fighting, but our arms feel too heavy. That’s when God sends people — friends, family, church — to lift us up. And sometimes, we’re the ones called to lift someone else. We were never meant to do life alone. The victory didn’t come because Moses was strong — it came because he had help.

Episode 59: God Is In The Details

📖 Matthew 10:30 — “And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” You are so special to God. Sometimes we think God only cares about the big things — like major life decisions, miracles, or moments at church. But the Bible says He even knows how many hairs are on your head. That means He pays attention to every tiny detail of your life — even the parts no one else sees. He knows when you’re nervous about something you didn’t tell anyone. He knows the thoughts you keep to yourself. He knows what makes you smile, what makes you cry, and what weighs on your heart at night. Think about that — the same God who created galaxies, mountains, and oceans… knows you. Not just your name — He knows you. He knows your favorite song, your secret fears, your dreams, and even your habits. He sees when you’re doing your best, even when no one else notices. You are not invisible. You are fully seen, deeply known, and completely loved by your Creator. And when you start to feel forgotten, remember this: the God who made the stars also keeps count of your hairs — that’s how detailed His love is.
