October 2: Change Isn’t Always Bad
Change can be uncomfortable, but refusing to change can cost us even more. In this episode of Strategies for Success, we kick off our October series on change with the story of Kodak, a company that dominated photography for generations but struggled to adapt as the world moved toward digital photography. Ironically, one of the first digital cameras was actually developed by a Kodak engineer, yet the company remained heavily invested in the film business that had made it successful. Kodak’s story gives us a powerful leadership lesson: what made you successful in one season may not be what carries you into the next. Whether in business, ministry, leadership, or our personal lives, we have to know the difference between protecting our core values and simply protecting what feels familiar. Seasons change, technology changes, and opportunities change. Sometimes moving forward means being willing to release an old method without abandoning the mission. Change isn’t always bad. Sometimes it’s exactly what we need to step into what’s next.
