I Don’t Know You Like That!

Parasocial Relationships, Stans & Influencer Obsessions

Why are we defending celebrities like they pay our rent?

This week on Smoke Break, we’re diving into parasocial relationships, stan culture, and influencer obsessions—because why are we defending celebrities like they’re family?

We unpack the psychology behind one-sided emotional bonds, the rise of stan culture sparked by Eminem’s “Stan,” and how online fandoms turned into digital armies. We also get into current conversations surrounding Nicki Minaj, celebrities switching political lanes toward figures like Donald Trump, and whether you can truly separate the artist from the art.

This week’s rundown: We talk about the Cardi B concert, Nicki headlines, and other moments living rent-free in the timeline.

Watch List: We break down what we’ve been watching—including The Traitors and a few other shows currently in rotation.
