In Cedar Rapids, IA, there is a mysterious man that is often seen playing Hockey at the intersection of First Avenue and Collins Road. Over the years, he has garnered a lot of attention and has become something of a local celebrity. We all know him as “Hockey Man”.

His real name is Matthew Crawford. He’s from the Cedar Rapids, IA area, went to Linn Mar High School, and is a big fan of hockey and the Cedar Rapids Rough Riders. Most ask the question, “Why does he play hockey?”, let alone year round at such a busy spot.
