Faithful When It Costs You

Following Jesus does not always make life easier. His Word can create tension with friends, coworkers, and even the people we love most. In Matthew 10, Jesus prepares his followers for that conflict and calls them to choose faithfulness over comfort. How should we respond when speaking the truth feels costly? We ask Jesus for forgiveness when fear keeps us silent, forgiveness when pride shapes our words, and patience and wisdom to speak his truth with love. The cross may be difficult to carry, but Jesus promises to remain with us, forgive our failures, and give us a heaven to inherit.
