SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 12: 1 - 4.

Last week, we concluded our summer series through Hebrews 11. We jump back to “From Shadow to Substance” for the next few weeks as we complete the Book of Hebrews. One could argue that our next passage, Hebrews 12:1–4, is the climax of the book, so it has been a pleasure focusing on these important verses. One element I love about this passage is the athletic imagery of running a race, one where we remove what hinders and where we keep our eyes on Jesus. And if we forget what kind of race we are running, or we are distracted along the way, we also have the ultimate example for us in Jesus.
