Real v Feel: Netball numbers that matter
Temporada 1
por Erin Delahunty & Dr Aaron Fox
Erin & Aaron break down a round of records; from Shamera Sterling’s ‘zero contact game’, a match with 100% gain-to-goal conversion & Fever’s historic 91% centre pass success rate against the Lightning. Plus Parmy v Braz, by the stats.
Using ecological science and species diversity (yes really!), Erin & Aaron analyse which sides “spread the gains”. We also name an all-time Net Points Super Team and do a deep dive into intra-quarter scoring.
Erin & Aaron analyse just how well Shamera Sterling is travelling in 2023, compare the ‘feel’ versus ‘real’ of a rare bad game from superstar Liz Watson and look at who is the best ‘clutch’ shooter in the league.
Erin & Aaron analyse the red-hot Fever, the link between Steph Wood & Lightning’s fortunes, centre pass perfection, the unsung heroes of netball (WDs!) & what Darth Vader has to do with Courtney Bruce.
Erin & Aaron look at the "super influence" of the super shot, marvel at Swift Maddy Proud’s round 3 performance, and work out exactly how much time is wasted per game with “returning the ball, ladies”.
Erin & Aaron dissect the drama, then crunch the data from a controversial second round of Super Netball, looking at who would have won Thunderbirds v Swifts, Jhaniele Fowler’s spotless 2023 record and more.
Erin & Aaron assess the statistical narratives that emerged from the opening round of Super Netball; dynamic defenders, perfect shooters and the best “turnarounds” in the league’s history.
Erin & Aaron run the statistical ruler over the upcoming Super Netball season. We ask if the Adelaide Thunderbirds are "a go" in 2023, take a look at the vital "gains to goals" metric and re-visit "The PG rating".
Ahead of the Super Netball grand final, we have a whole episode dedicated to 'Fox Answers the Fans' questions. From digging into Super Netball scoring & margins stats to using data to find future Diamonds, Dr Fox does it all.
