When I found Stand-Up comedy, Jay Jackson’s name was all over Little Rock, selling out comedy shows and singing and dancing with his band. Jay built a following that left behind years later to live a more private life with his husband. Enjoy this talk where we talk about how it was growing up with Southern Baptist parents in Pine Bluff, AR. joining the military and eventually diving into the Artistic talents that made him the Jay we all love. Seth is one of my best friends in comedy and I always wanted to hear more about his time in the Arkansas comedy scene before I came along, why he had to stop and how he came back around to become one of Little Rock favorites.
In this 3rd episode I sat down with Jack Wilks, comedian and shear sharpener. Jack started as someone who wanted to be recognized but didn’t know by what; until he stumbled upon the Stand Up comedy scene in 80’s Houston. Living with his friend and comedy star Bill Hicks, and how he came full circle back to Arkansas where he still performs and works as a sharpener. This was a great talk that you will definitely find interesting.
Second episode of Raw Bio! This time I got to talk to Bair, went to his house and got to know my friend of 8 years more than I thought I knew him. Bair is a Stand Up comedian from Arkansas and has his own comedy company called “Scoundrels” and hosts the “Partially Cooked Podcast” with comedian Seth Dees.
