Temporada 1

Episode 8 - "These Bitches Gay!"

Explícito
Welcome back to Raters of the Lost Arts! This week, Kay and Craig discuss their favorite DCOMs (Disney Channel Original Movies) and talk a little bit about their history (well...Craig does). Kay can't shake her Jennifer Coolidge impression, Craig can't seem to clear his throat, and we can't shake the feeling that there could be a queer reading for every DCOM ever made. Enjoy! Minisode 2 - Best Picture Roundup 2021

Happy Sunday! In this special episode, we discuss all of the Best Picture nominees for the 2021 Academy Awards. Kay has seen 7/8 of the films so far, Craig has seen...one. But that's alright. Shoutout to the Letterboxd virgins, Craig's coughs, Steven Yeun for being a DILF, and to ranch dressing, which Kay may have to drink if Maria Bakalova wins for best supporting actress. How many did Kay get right? We'll find out tonight... Follow us on Twitter and Instagram: @ratersofthepod

Episode 7 - "Sewer Slide?"

Welcome back to Raters of the Lost Arts! We start off this episode by talking about how Kay got shot (with a vaccine) as well as providing a bunch of mini updates for the week of April 11th, 2021. For the main segment, we ranked our top 5 favorite Best Picture Winners at the Oscars. We get so many names wrong, please forgive us. And just wait until Sunday morning...something special is coming in celebration of the biggest night in Hollywood! Follow us on Twitter and Instagram: @ratersofthepod

Minisode 1 - Ingrid Goes West

Explícito
What's your biggest emotional wound? Today, we unveil our first film review of "Ingrid Goes West" (2017, dir. Matt Spicer). We'd recommend watching the film before listening, but a quick synopsis of the film is "an unhinged social media stalker [Aubrey Plaza] moves to LA and insinuates herself into the life of an Instagram star [Elizabeth Olsen]". Craig goes into research-mode, Kay goes into screenwriting student-mode, there are differing opinions on the ending of the film, Kay gives her alternative ending, and chaos does NOT ensue!

Episode 6 - "Swiftie vs. Taylor Swift Fan"

Welcome back to Raters of the Lost Arts! This week on the podcast, we're doing something a little different to celebrate the re-release of Taylor Swift's "Fearless" album...a track-by-track rating! First, we settle the score on Kay's name, discuss some news regarding the Amityville Horror House, and discuss some of the Oscar nominations (Kay has now seen most of these films!). Then, we go into the album and differentiate between Taylor and Tayla as well as the difference between a Swiftie (Craig) and a Taylor Swift Fan (Kay). Do we deserve a Taylor Swift classic literature concept album? Let us know your thoughts and your personal Fearless ranking on our Twitter and Instagram @ratersofthepod!

Episode 5 - "...Jonathan?" (w/ Bella)

Explícito
Hello and welcome back to Raters of the Lost Arts! Craig is away this week, so Kay sought out mutual friend Bella (@bella_sciacca) to talk about something Craig doesn't care about...the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Join Kay and Bella as they discuss the first two episodes of Falcon and the Winter Soldier, rank their top 5 favorite films in the MCU, and fan-cast Marvel characters not yet in the MCU! Should Pedro Pascal collect another infinity stone-- uh, we mean franchise-- and enter the MCU? Kermit the Frog as Hulk? We would like to see it!

Episode 4 - "Untouched by the Veronicas is Avocado Toast"

Explícito
Welcome back to Raters of the Lost Arts! In this episode, Craig gets his gay card revoked for not knowing Celine Dion is from Canada, Kay discusses the influences of Marxism on Britney Spears' "Work B*tch," and we rate our favorite women in pop music! Join us as we ask the hard-hitting questions such as "if God were to put his records on, what would his favorite song be?".

Episode 3 - "POP POP"

Explícito
Welcome back to Raters of the Lost Arts! We start off this episode by briefly talking about Oprah's interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry and how much we hate old, rich, racist people. Then, to the topic at hand, COMMUNITY! We run through a bunch of the characters from NBC's Community and reminisce on one of our favorite sitcoms of all time. We know this one is a little long. Shut up, Leonard.

Episode 2 - "The Olivia Rodrigo-Sabrina Carpenter of It All"

Hello! Welcome to the second episode of Raters of the Lost Arts. In this episode, Kay details the firing of Gina Carano from The Mandalorian, Craig gets excited about "Love Story (Taylor's Version)", and we both discuss the matter at hand— Long Island culture. Craig goes into the messy details of the "Long Island Lolita" case and we rate our top 5 favorite Long Islanders. Hopefully, we enter your own personal top 5 after this episode. Or maybe the wonky thing going on with Craig's microphone will make you put us in your bottom 5.

Episode 1 - "You May Boo"

Welcome to the first episode of Raters of the Lost Arts! In this episode, we discuss one of the most important tenets of culture and art— the Muppets! Craig will go through the history of Jim Henson and the Muppets for way too long, we rate our top 5 Muppets, and re-cast popular movies with mostly-Muppet casts. The weird echo in some parts is all part of the experience (that and Kay is still learning how to edit). Waka waka!
