Bonnie Quinn on The Lady in Chains, Folklore, and Family Roots in Trucking | Road Gang Radio

On this episode of Road Gang Radio, host Jimmy Mac welcomes author Bonnie Quinn, creator of the viral Reddit series How to Survive Camping and author of the haunting new novel The Lady in Chains.

Bonnie shares how her storytelling journey began online with eerie folklore-inspired tales that captivated millions, eventually leading to a major publishing deal. Drawing from her background in computer science and her lifelong fascination with folklore, loss, and survival, she crafts worlds that are both deeply human and unsettlingly strange.

How The Lady in Chains evolved from a Reddit phenomenon into a full-fledged novel

The folklore roots behind her horror and fantasy writing

How her **grandfather’s life as a truck driver—and his tragic accident—**influenced her themes of loss and resilience
