In this second episode of our four-part series on social emotional learning we will dive deeper into emotional safety and why it is paramount for children. When children feel emotionally secure, they are more open to learning and taking risks. This sense of safety extends beyond the classroom. It impacts their lifelong sense of security and well-being. We’ll look at the first two skills of Conscious Discipline, composure and assertiveness. We will also discuss adult triggers, and how these can impact our ability to connect with children. It’s essential for educators to be aware of their triggers and manage them effectively to foster positive interactions.
