After a grueling ten-hour trek through the jungles outside Museport, the party stumbled into a clearing that promised a campsite — only to find it occupied by a territorial Beedrill hive, sentry Weedle, and a commanding Oranguru overseeing a troop of Grookey. While Terry wanted to set up camp and tend to sweet potatoes, Joel used his Capture Styler to peacefully befriend a sentry Weedle, and Frranki climbed into the canopy to win the Oranguru's allegiance through an impressive display of acrobatics with his Geodude. The Oranguru made clear that the Beedrill hive was the enemy and that a war was already underway, granting the party permission to stay — but only after the fighting was done.
The battle that followed was intense and chaotic. The first wave of Weedle coated several party members in sticky silk, but the group fought back hard — Xeo unleashed compressed air strikes, Joel's Numel swept through clusters of Weedle with flame, Lua's Squirtle evolved mid-battle into a Wartortle, and TKO the Dunsparce mowed through enemies in a single pass. The emergence of a powerful, jungle-infused Apex Beedrill raised the stakes dramatically, leaving Xeo poisoned and critically weakened. In a stunning moment, Emrys seized control of a Beedrill with his mind, turning it against the hive's own Kakuna before releasing it — sending the confused creature straight into Hana. The tide turned as the allied Grookey, Hiromu's wind blades, Cutiefly's silver wind, and a vortex of fire from Eminence broke the swarm. Hana landed the decisive blow, capturing the surge shiny Apex Beedrill with a perfectly thrown Pokéball, while Xeo — barely alive — secured the Beedrill Emrys had abandoned, and Faye cured his poison just in time. With the swarm dispersed, Joel investigated the hive and noted it appeared newly built, suggesting the Beedrill were an invasive presence. The party recovered, freed their webbed companions, and extended a warm invitation to the Oranguru and Grookey to share in the evening meal.
