Join Joe McDonald as he explores the promises that come from working Steps 10 and 11 of Alcoholics Anonymous. Joe explains that part of our recovery is learning to love people while tolerating the symptoms of their malady—selfishness, dishonesty, resentment, and fear. He reflects on the powerful promise that we cease fighting anything or anyone, even alcohol. Joe also shares his personal experience with the progressive nature of addiction and how, for many, the ability to resist substances diminishes over time, until it’s impossible without spiritual intervention.
