In our last episode, we discussed POAs for overseas principals. Today, we look at the simpler case: issuing a UAE Power of Attorney while physically present in the UAE.
When the principal is in the UAE, the process is faster and more flexible. POAs can be completed through Dubai Courts, licensed private notaries, or remote notarisation.
Traditional in-person notarisation involves attending a notary with identification and supporting documents. The notary verifies identity, witnesses the signature, and registers the POA.
However, remote notarisation has become the preferred option for many UAE residents. Through a secure video session, the principal verifies their identity, signs electronically, and receives a notarised digital document without visiting a notary office.
