Science vs. Ghost: A Look at What Science Says; Understanding the Equipment, Case File

Rick will take a look at what scientist have said about ghost. Then the team will look at the scientific equipment that ghost finders have adapted for paranoral investigation and how it is used. And then an actual case file will be shared from the book Phantasmophobia by Chance. Next episode we will discuss EVP, Electronic Voice Phenomenon and hear a real ghost voice caught on tape from the ghost finder.

EPISODE EIGHT EVIL SPIRITS and DEMON POSSESSION PART TWO

This episode continues the discussion of evil spirits and demon possession. We will discuss the New Testament exorcisms by Jesus and what patterns were set by him and how these can be translated into the work of the paranormal investigator. We will look at the Catholic rite of exorcism and the prevalence of demon possession in our world today. We will discuss demon possession as portrayed by Hollywood movies - what they get right. And we will finish the real case file we started regarding this issue.

EPISODE SEVEN–EVIL SPIRITS and DEMON POSSESSION

In this podcast we look at the cultural and religious history of belief in evil spirits, possession and exorcism. We will find that many of the ways science and modern thinkers have passed off the belief in spirit possession or the belief in demons may not be accurate. We will look at the scientific world of medicine, anthropology, psychiatry, and neurology as they approach this subject. Then we will look at the Catholic and Protestant Christian Churches, Islam, Hindu and other world religions who continue to see this as a viable concern. Rick will look at research material by psychiatrist, psychologist, and exorcist who believe exorcism works and possession has distinct features from mental health and medical issues. And we will continue a real life Case File regarding this issue.

EPISODE SIX– GOING ON A GHOST HUNT: MISSION STATEMENTS and EVIL SPIRITS PART ONE

In this episode we will discuss the concept of "walking toward the light" and the history from the very first ghost hunter to the most educated paranormal investigator who influenced paranormal investigations. We will look at the idea of spirits on astral planes and the idea of "evil" spirits and their influence on humans. We will discuss the obligation of each ghost hunter to lead the wandering spirit to find their destiny and the importance of having a Mission Statement and purpose for being on a ghost hunt. Rick will share actual case files and he will share part one of a situation which was perplexing with not a ghost, but a live person who seemed to be under the influence of something beyond his own control.

We will talk about the importance of discernment, what that term means to the ghost hunter. We will use a real life ghost hunting case file to illustrate why discernment is a must.

EVPs Electronic Voice Phenomenon

Today we will discuss the history of EVP research. We will hear a recording of an EVP caught on tape from a real ghost hunt from one of Rick's early ghost hunts. We will go over an actual case file from a ghost hunt of a radio station where a ghost was invited to leave. And Rick will talk about his ideas of where to find ghost hunting equipment if you are just starting out.

Ghost Ain't No New Thing - A HISTORICAL and CULTURAL LOOK at GHOST

Ruby Walthers will interview R. Smithson, author of Phantasmophobia by Chance, a seasoned ghost hunter about the history of the belief and cultural influence of ghost. Rick will discuss the terms and definitions used in paranomal investigation and some of the basic beliefs in ghost hunting. In the next episode Ruby and Rick will begin looking into actual ghost hunting files.
