The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse Ride | Revelation 6

In this chapter of Revelation Jesus begins to open the seals on the scroll, and six of them out of seven are removed. The first four result in the four horses of the apocalypse riding out and bringing with them conquest, war, poverty and plague. Sounds terrible. What does it all mean, and most importantly, who is that rider on the white horse? Is that Jesus? This is chapter six of a twenty-two video series released one per week each Friday. For a book labelled 'revelation' it has historically been one of the least understood books in the Bible. This series aims over the course of 22 weeks to bring revelation to Revelation. In this video, we pick up from where we left with the scroll in chapter 5. Jesus begins opening the seals one by one. Upon the opening of each seal, John observes something happening. But what are the 4 horsemen? Is the rider on the white horse Jesus? Is this chapter describing a Biblical apocalypse? We try to answer these questions and more.

The Start of The End | Revelation 5

Standing in the throne room/court room of God, John is crying because nobody good enough was able to be found to begin proceedings. But there was a lamb who was slain, a symbol of the Lord Jesus, who was worthy. It turns out that when Christ died, it wasn't just salvation he worked out, but he did a great many other things too, including being worthy to open this legal document. In this Episode we consider the the scroll which is written on both sides, and sealed with seven seals. It is a legal document, but how exactly is it so? And why is Jesus the only one able to open it? And what will happen when he does?

This is NOT the Rapture | Revelation 4

"Come up here," said a voice, and then John had a revelation of God's throne. Now in this episode it's your turn to come up and have a Revelation of God too. After our reading, we consider the throne of God, but also the idea that this chapter might be the rapture. In reality it isn't. David really didn't mean to laugh in the video when he questioned the rapture. Certainly we intend no disrespect, but it just doesn't seem plausible that this could be thought. This chapter is also where the symbolism of Revelation starts to get more mysterious and there are disagreements about meaning among Christian and scholarly groups.

God's Terrifying Message to Sardis | Revelation 3

In this episode, we consider the last three of seven churches that Jesus wrote this letter to, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea. Revelation wasn't a letter written specifically to us, in the twenty-first century, but to seven churches in the province of Asia in the first century. In making the message apply to us today, the context matters.

Why does God write to 7 Churches? | Revelation 2

In this episode, we consider the first four of seven churches that Jesus wrote this letter to. Revelation wasn't a letter written specifically to us, in the twenty-first century, but to seven churches in the province of Asia in the first century. In making the message apply to us today, the context matters. Are you curious where Ephesus is today? Or where is Smyrna today? What about the church of Thyatira or Pergamum. This video will show you where to find them, along with the Island of Patmos.

Is the Book of Revelation REALLY About Jesus? | Revelation 1

Welcome to the Book of Revelation. This is chapter one of the audio series covering the Final book of the Bible. For a book labelled 'revelation' it has historically been one of the least understood books in the Bible. But we aim to bring revelation to Revelation. In this episode we cover three of the big issues concerning the entire book, such as when it was written, who it was written to, and the central theme of the book, being Jesus himself. In summary, the book is a revelation of JESUS, and not as such about the end of the world.

Understanding Jude 1: The Lord's Brother Writes a Stern Warning - about False Christians

Jude warns that "certain men" have "slipped in among you". This letter is about people who look good and do Christian things, but are rotten from the inside out with false motives and plans. Its a very interesting short chapter of the Bible, from the Lord Jesus' brother Jude. Join David Alley as he reads Jude 1 and then discusses the chapter and these issues.

Understanding 3 John 1: A Letter to Gaius, about Christian Hospitality

John wrote a letter to his friend Gaius, who was known for showing hospitality to Christians in need. The letter was also a rebuke of Diotrephes who loved to be first. Join David Alley as he reads 3 John 1 and then discusses the chapter and these issues.

Understanding 2 John 1: A Letter to Kyria - the Chosen Lady

John in his second letter writes to Kyria - the chosen lady. We don't know much about her, but the things he says to her teach us and help us today. Join David Alley as he reads 2 John 1 and then discusses the chapter and these issues.

Understanding 1 John 5: The Three that Testify - Water, Spirit & Blood
