Psychotherapist, doula, and lifecycle ceremonialist makes visible life's joys and struggles

Shira Collings (she/they) is a psychotherapist specializing in neurodiversity affirming, LGBTQ+ affirming, and fat affirming eating disorder care, as well as a miscarriage and bereavement doula focusing on pregnancy loss in marginalized communities. They are also ordained as a Lifecycle Ceremony Officiant. They officiate weddings, funerals, b'nei mitzvot, and baby namings on behalf of Folkshul, Philadelphia's Humanistic Jewish congregation. They additionally create and facilitate rituals around less often commemorated lifecycle events including gender transition, infertility and pregnancy loss, mental health recovery, and pet adoption and pet loss. Shira is passionate about creating spaces where people transform experiences that are often invisible or unrecognized into opportunities for connection.
