Happy Saturday, folks. We're tracking a serious wind event for your Sunday. A powerful cold front is sweeping down from the Plains, bringing dangerous gusts and a sharp temperature crash.
As the sun sets. It's warm and breezy right now, with temperatures in the 70s under a mostly clear sky. Enjoy it while you can, a cold front will slide into northwest Oklahoma after midnight. Tonight, lows will be mild, only dropping to the upper 50s.
The front races through by morning, behind it, northwest winds will howl. Here comes sustained winds of 30 to 40 miles an hour, with gusts potentially hitting 65 miles an hour in western sections.
