In Hurricane Katrina's aftermath, the conditions in the city take an unprecedented turn for the worst. Overwhelmed staff inside of hospitals take two very different approaches to patient care. Suffering and chaos continue at the Superdome, convention center, and hotels, where desperate survivors faced heat, hunger, and a lack of basic necessities. Law enforcement and vigilantes, take advantage of the city's struggle for survival with misinformation and media sensationalism running rampant. Any survivors survivors over these few days do so at a tremendous cost, while others are left behind.
