Captain Azariah Stratton of Company F, 12th New Jersey writes his account of the Battle of Gettysburg for the post war book, History of The Men of Company F with Descriptions of the Marches and Battles of the 12th New Jersey which is compiled and written by William P. Haines.
Stratton was a Corporal during the battle and would serve with the 12th all the way to Appomattox and by then would be Company Fs final Capitan. he would return home to South Jersey, marry live until 1909 and is buried in Trinity Methodist in Marmora, New Jersey.
