Today’s reading takes us to Psalm 27, where David teaches us to seek the Lord before we stare at the enemy. The psalm begins with confidence: the Lord is my light, my salvation, and my stronghold. The enemies are real, but they are not first. Biblical courage is not the absence of frightening circumstances; it is the settled conviction that those circumstances do not outrank God.
Psalm 27 reminds us that David’s deepest request was not merely deliverance from trouble, but nearness to the Lord. He asks to dwell in God’s presence, gaze on His beauty, and seek His face. So today, read Psalm 27 and make David’s prayer your own: wait on the Lord, be strong, take courage, and seek His face above everything else.
