Today’s reading takes us to 1 John 2, where John reminds believers that the goal of grace is holiness. When we sin, we do not look to our innocence—we look to our Advocate, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is our propitiation, the sacrifice who fully satisfied God’s righteous judgment against sin. You cannot out-sin the cross.
