Today’s reading takes us to Hosea 6, where the first three verses open with a call to return to the Lord. Israel acknowledges that the same God who tore them can heal them, and the same God who struck them can bind them up. There is a glimpse of resurrection hope here, because God alone can bring life where sin has brought ruin.
