The snow's done falling in the metro. The wind isn't done howling. Gusts up to 41 miles an hour are still ripping through the five boroughs and Long Island. Blowing snow, reduced visibility, the whole deal. Those gusts stick around through the evening, especially near the water. Tonight's the sneaky part. Temperatures slide to 25 degrees by 7 AM. Black ice will coat untreated roads and sidewalks. If you're heading out early, take it slow. Now push north on the Thruway toward Albany. You're catching the tail end of this system.
