In this no-holds-barred episode (the first of three) the tables are turned as Paul talks about his mum, Teresa. Teresa’s wayward interventions from making Paul fashion International Women’s Day gifts at school and her presence at a peace camp in the centre of Bradford underline his eccentric childhood. Facing disadvantage at home living on welfare, things begin to look up as his mum’s new lover TJ begins to temper some of her eccentricities and the possibility for a new home and life beckons. But things go awry quickly as Teresa uncovers a dark secret.
