I was so grateful to be able to talk about teaching again and also the liberation and growth that comes from stepping away, whether that’s for a new career path or through a break and sabbatical like Jessie.

Jessie is on the second year of her sabbatical from the middle school classroom that she left due to high stress and a need to focus on her health. During her time away she has been traveling, taking care of her mental health, leaning into personal development, and getting back into touch with her desires outside of what society deems the “right” path
