Spiritual gifts are given for service, unity, and the strengthening of the church. In this Mission SONlight Sabbath School Bible Study, Christopher Beason leads a study of Lesson 6, "Spiritual Gifts," from the 3rd quarter 2026 series on First and Second Corinthians.
This lesson examines 1 Corinthians 12-14 and explains how the Holy Spirit gives different gifts to believers while calling the church to function as one body. The study covers faith, teaching, healing, prophecy, tongues, administration, helps, and other gifts, with special attention to how love must guide every gift.
You'll also explore:
• Unity through diversity in the body of Christ
• Why every member and every gift matters
• The meaning and purpose of the gift of tongues
• How prophecy brings edification, exhortation, and comfort
• Why love is the "more excellent way"
• Biblical guidance for evaluating prophetic claims
• Seventh-day Adventist teaching about the prophetic ministry of Ellen G. White
• Practical questions about discovering and using your spiritual gift
