Mel's Vintage Radio Presents: A Sherlock Holmes Double Feature | Basil Rathbone Classic Radio Mysteries
Step into the foggy streets of old London with me for a classic Sherlock Holmes double feature starring Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes and Nigel Bruce as Dr. Watson.
Tonight’s mysteries begin with The Adventure of the Missing Submarine Plans, originally aired on November 6, 1939. Based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s "The Bruce-Partington Plans," this thrilling case sends Holmes into a world of stolen government secrets, espionage, and murder.
Our second feature is "The Case of the Retired Colourman," originally aired on March 11, 1940, a darker Holmes mystery involving a missing wife, vanished valuables, and a case that may not be what it first appears.
