The church should be a place of refuge, discipleship, accountability, community, and healing. Yet for many people, some of their deepest wounds are connected to experiences within Christian communities.

Being manipulated by spiritual authority. Being publicly humiliated or privately controlled. Having questions treated as rebellion. Watching wrongdoing be protected while the wounded are told to remain silent. Having Scripture used as a weapon instead of a source of truth and healing.

And sometimes, the hurt is not spiritual abuse at all—but it is still very real.
