Tina Teope - 7 Sep 2025 - Lamenting in Grief and Sadness

We tend to want to rush through or deny our grief and sadness. Tina shares how the scriptures (Psalms 42 and 43) show us the importance of making space to sit with our sadness (when it is safe to do so). There is transformative work that can happen through God, through our suffering, when we do.

Hannah Plews - 17 Aug 2025 - Making Space for Sorrow: Our Fears and Failures

Hannah walks us through Psalm 55 (and parts of Psalm 88) as she shares, in a real way, how God's loving presence can be trusted in dark times; where our fears and failures have taken hold of us. She leaves us with these following practices to try. Practicing the Presence of God in Fearful Situations - For when you have a chunk of time: Pick a Psalm - possibly Psalm 12, Psalm 56, Psalm 69, Psalm 88 . . . what images, words, or phrases resonate with your own experiences of fear and failure? Write them down, draw them, scribble them, speak them out Loud . . . however it is meaningful to do it. Using these images/words/phrases come to the Lord in prayer and ask him to be in that place with you, - For when you need an immediate prayer this week: Try this breath prayer taken from Psalm 55:22 “Cast your cares upon the Lord and He will sustain you.” Inhale: I cast all my anxiety on You. Exhale: Because You care for me. With each breath you take, name each worry to give it to God in prayer. Yielding, and surrendering, not my will but yours be done.

Libby Hunt - 3 Aug 2025 - Making Space for Sorrow: Lamenting in Anger

We are emotional beings, made in God's image. Libby shares the importance of expressing our feelings - not just good the ones. To be real and responsible with our anger, otherwise it will just leak out anyway.

Tina Teope - 20 July 2025 - Now Go Do It

In an age of information overload, how do we take action - take the steps to follow the narrow path and live life with Jesus? Covering Matthew 7:13-29, Tina gives us part 2 of 2 of 'The Sermon Concludes' series - wrapping up Jesus' Sermon on the Mount. Tina also leaves us with some practical steps for the week ahead: 'Your Rule of Life' Have a think about your current ‘rule of life’ – what habits and rhythms do you already have in your life to draw you deeper into Jesus? Pray about how you could go deeper. Write down possible tweaks to your ‘rule of life’ and pray over this. (You could include times of prayer, Bible reading, silence and solitude, fasting, church /house church /small group, Sabbath / slowing and rest, etc). Want to learn more? Listen to John Mark Comer’s teaching on a ‘Rule of Life’ (also available on Spotify).

Rod Edwards - 6 July 2025 - The Blame Game

It is not loving to “pick on people, jump on their failures, criticise their faults”. So how can we help guide or correct someone? And is it always appropriate to do? How do we honour God and each other when we mess up? And what does it take to ask another for correction or guidance in your own behaviour? Rod explores these questions with scripture and wisdom. Covering Matthew 7:1-6 (and Galatians 6:1), this is part 1 of 2 of 'The Sermon Concludes' series - wrapping up Jesus' Sermon on the Mount.
