Merely believing God exists will not save you, and that tension sits at the heart of this compelling theology lesson from Dan. What does it actually take to move from intellectual acknowledgment to genuine saving faith?

Dan opens with a relatable admission, citing biblical figures like Moses and Paul who also hesitated before speaking publicly. He then draws on Pew Research data showing that while most Americans still believe in God, the soul, and the spiritual realm, belief among Protestants and Catholics has noticeably declined since 2007. Decline in belief, in other words, is a real and measurable trend.

Systematically, Dan explains that knowledge of God comes through two channels: an inner awareness all humans carry and evidence found in Scripture and nature. Romans 1 gets particular attention here, illustrating how people inherently know God but willfully suppress that knowledge. (The Grand Canyon comes up as a surprisingly moving example of natural evidence.)

On the philosophical side, Thomas Aquinas's Five Ways, including the cosmological and teleological arguments, are presented as rational frameworks accessible to believers and skeptics alike.
