Pursuing God — Surrendered and Spirit Led
In this episode of the Living Out 180 Podcast, Kendall and Pastor Brad continue the Pursuing God series by bringing together two deeply connected parts of the Christian life: worship and the Holy Spirit. Worship is more than a song we sing. Romans 12 describes true worship as offering our entire lives to God. It begins when we see God for who He is, responds through surrender, and ultimately changes the way we live. But we were never meant to live a surrendered life through our own strength. Together, Kendall and Brad explore Jesus' promise of the Holy Spirit and how the Spirit convicts us, transforms us, teaches us, leads us, and empowers us. His work produces Christlike character in us and equips us to live as witnesses who point others toward Jesus. The conversation also turns toward life, leadership, and discipleship. What does Spirit-led leadership actually look like? Are we measuring spiritual growth by our gifts and accomplishments, or by the fruit being produced in our lives? And what might God be asking us to surrender so He can continue transforming who we are? Worship says, "God, my life belongs to You." The Holy Spirit says, "Let Me transform it." Key Scripture: Romans 12:1–2 Isaiah 6:1–8 John 14:16–18, 26 Galatians 5:22–26 Acts 1:8 John 16:13–14 Ephesians 5:18–21 Listen in and reflect: What is God asking you to put on the altar, and are you willing to let the Holy Spirit transform what you surrender? 180churchtn.com
Pursuing God — Prayer That Shapes the Way We Live
In this episode of the Living Out 180 Podcast, Kendall and Pastor Brad bring together two powerful themes: prayer and godliness. Using 1 Timothy 6 as the foundation, they explore what it really means to pursue God. Prayer is more than asking God for help, and godliness is more than simply looking religious. When we pursue God through prayer, that relationship should begin to shape the way we live, lead, love, serve, forgive, and respond to others. Kendall and Brad walk through the Lord’s Prayer as a model for a life centered on God: connecting with Him relationally, worshiping His name, seeking His kingdom first, depending on Him daily, keeping our hearts right with others, engaging in spiritual warfare, and trusting His power. They also connect those rhythms of prayer to the biblical picture of godliness, where faith becomes visible through our speech, conduct, love, faith, purity, and willingness to take real action. The conversation also turns to the Good Samaritan as an example of what godliness looks like in motion. True faith looks past labels, shows mercy, takes action, and follows the heart of God. For life, leadership, and discipleship, the challenge is simple: Pursue Him privately. Reflect Him publicly. Key Scripture: 1 Timothy 6:11–12 Matthew 6:9–13 Mark 1:35 James 5:16 James 2:21–24 Galatians 5:16 1 Timothy 4:12 Luke 10:25–37 Listen in and reflect: Is your pursuit of God changing the way you live? 180churchtn.com
Go to Battle, Failure
Episode 37: Go to Battle, Part 8 — Failure In this episode of the Living Out 180 Podcast, Kendall and Pastor Brad continue the Go to Battle series by confronting something every one of us will experience: failure. Failure can make us question ourselves, our purpose, and even what God is doing in our lives. But Scripture reminds us that we are jars of clay. We are imperfect people carrying the extraordinary power of God. Together, Kendall and Pastor Brad explore how God can use failure in ways we may not recognize in the moment. We can fail now and succeed later. We can fail in things that are temporary while succeeding in what is eternal. And sometimes what looks like failure on the outside is producing something important in our hearts. So what do we do when we fail? Own it. Receive God's grace. Learn from it. Let God redeem it. Get back up. Failure does not have to be the end of your story. Instead of simply asking God to get you out of it, maybe the better prayer is to ask Him for the wisdom to grow through it. Key Scripture: 2 Corinthians 4:7–18 Psalm 51:4 Romans 5:20 Psalm 37:23–24 2 Corinthians 1:3–4 Romans 12:9–13 Listen in and reflect: What if the failure you're trying to forget is something God wants to redeem? 180churchtn.com
Go to Battle_Doubt
Episode 36: Go to Battle, Part 7 — Doubt In this episode of the Living Out 180 Podcast, Kendall and Pastor Brad continue the Go to Battle series by confronting something nearly every believer experiences at some point: doubt. Doubt can leave us feeling uncertain, unsettled, and even questioning things we once believed with confidence. But Scripture shows us that some of the greatest people of faith had doubts too. Moses questioned. Elijah struggled. Thomas doubted the resurrection. Even John the Baptist found himself asking whether Jesus really was the One. The good news? God didn't reject them in their doubt. He moved toward them. Together, Kendall and Pastor Brad discuss how doubt can grow in isolation, but when handled honestly, it can also draw us back to Christ and deepen our faith. They explore practical ways to battle doubt: bring your questions into the light, return to God's Word, feed your faith first, remember what God has already done, and keep moving even when you don't have every answer. Faith isn't the absence of questions. Sometimes faith is trusting God enough to take the next step while the questions are still there. Key Scripture: James 1:5–8, Matthew 11:2–5, John 20:24–29, Mark 9:24, Romans 10:17, Psalm 105:4–5, Psalm 23:4 Where is doubt making you stand still when God is asking you to keep walking? 180churchtn.com
Go to Battle_Unforgiveness
In this episode of the Living Out 180 Podcast, Kendall and Pastor Brad continue the Go to Battle series by confronting one of the most difficult battles of the heart: unforgiveness. Using Matthew 18, Colossians 3, and Ephesians 4, they explore what forgiveness really means—and what it does not mean. Forgiveness is not the same as reconciliation, restored trust, or pretending the offense never happened. It is the decision to release the offender from the debt we believe they owe us. Together, Kendall and Pastor Brad unpack Jesus’ parable of the unforgiving servant and the powerful reminder that people who have received extravagant grace are called to extend grace to others. They also walk through three practical steps for battling unforgiveness: Decide. Depend. Obey. Decide to forgive, even before you feel like it. Depend on the Holy Spirit for the strength to release the offense. Obey Christ because we have already been forgiven. Key Scripture: Matthew 18:21–35 Colossians 3:13 Mark 11:25 John 20:19–23 Ephesians 4:32 Listen in and reflect: Is there someone whose debt you are still trying to collect? 180churchtn.com
Go to Battle_Anger
In this episode of the Living Out 180 Podcast, Kendall and Pastor Brad continue the Go to Battle series by addressing one of the most misunderstood emotions we experience: anger. Drawing from Ephesians 4, James 1, and Proverbs 29, they discuss why anger itself is not sinful, but what we do with it determines whether it becomes a tool for growth or a foothold for the enemy. Together, they explore the difference between righteous anger and selfish anger, uncover the deeper emotions that often fuel our reactions, and offer practical, biblical steps for responding with wisdom instead of impulse. Whether your anger comes from hurt, fear, injustice, or disappointment, this conversation will encourage you to stop hiding it, understand its root, speak the truth in love, and choose forgiveness over resentment. Key Scripture: Ephesians 4:26–32 James 1:19–21 Proverbs 29:11 Ephesians 4:14–15 Listen in and reflect: Is your anger leading you closer to Christ, or giving the enemy a foothold in your heart? 180churchtn.com
Go to Battle_Guilt
In this episode of the Living Out 180 Podcast, Kendall and Pastor Brad continue the Go to Battle series by confronting one of the heaviest battles we can face: guilt. Drawing from Psalm 32, Psalm 51, and Romans 8, they explore the difference between conviction that leads to repentance and condemnation that keeps us trapped in shame. Looking at David's life after his sin with Bathsheba, they discuss how guilt weakens us, weighs us down, and isolates us from both God and the people who can help us most. Together, Kendall and Pastor Brad share practical, biblical steps for battling guilt: stop hiding, confess your sin honestly, receive God's healing, move closer to His presence, and allow your story of redemption to become a testimony that points others to Christ. No matter what you've done or how long you've carried it, the grace of Jesus is greater than your guilt. Key Scripture: Romans 8:1–2 Psalm 32:3–5 Psalm 51:1–13 1 John 1:9 Listen in and reflect: What would change if you stopped hiding your guilt and allowed God's grace to bring healing instead? 180churchtn.com
Go to Battle_Worry
In this episode of the Living Out 180 Podcast, Kendall and Pastor Brad continue the Go to Battle series by tackling one of the most common battles we all face: worry. Drawing from Matthew 6 and Philippians 4, they explore the difference between healthy concern and unhealthy worry. While concern moves us toward wise action, worry traps us in a cycle of fear over things we cannot control. Together, they unpack why worry creates a divided mind and heart, steals our peace, and pulls our attention away from trusting God. Kendall and Pastor Brad also discuss practical ways to battle worry by establishing the right priorities, seeking God's Kingdom first, turning worry into prayer, and learning to live one day at a time. Instead of dwelling on yesterday's regrets or tomorrow's uncertainties, Jesus invites us to trust that our Heavenly Father already knows what we need. Key Scripture: Matthew 6:25–34 Philippians 4:6–7 Hebrews 12:2 Ephesians 4:14 Matthew 6:33–34 Listen in and reflect: What worry are you carrying that God is inviting you to place in His hands today? 180churchtn.com
Go to Battle_Discouragement
In this episode of the Living Out 180 Podcast, Kendall and Pastor Brad continue the Go to Battle series by taking on the battle of discouragement. Using Nehemiah 4, they explore the common factors that make us vulnerable to discouragement: fatigue, frustration, failure, and fear. When strength runs low, the rubble feels overwhelming, and criticism keeps coming, it can be easy to believe the work is no longer worth continuing. Kendall and Brad also look at Nehemiah’s response. He cried out to God, kept doing the work God had given him, focused on the bigger picture, rehearsed God’s promises, and helped people carry the burden together. This episode is a reminder that discouragement may tell you to stop, but God can give you the strength to keep building. Key Scripture: Nehemiah 4:1–23 2 Corinthians 4:1 Luke 18:1 Psalm 46:1–3 Galatians 6:9 Matthew 11:28 Listen in and reflect: Where are you discouraged, and what would it look like to keep building with God’s help? 180churchtn.com
Go to Battle Part 1: Fear
In this episode of the Living Out 180 Podcast, Kendall and Pastor Brad begin a new series called Go to Battle by taking on one of the most common battles we face: fear. Using Deuteronomy 1, they look at the moment God’s people stood on the edge of the Promised Land but allowed fear to rewrite the story. Fear disregarded God’s plan, distorted His purpose, discouraged His people, disbelieved His promises, and eventually led to disobedience. Kendall and Pastor Brad discuss how fear can control our decisions, shape the atmosphere around us, and keep us from walking into what God has already called us to do. They also unpack practical ways to go to battle with fear: confront it honestly, confess when fear has become disobedience, believe God’s promises, cultivate a closer relationship with Him, and surrender fully to Christ. Key Scripture: Deuteronomy 1:19–40 2 Timothy 1:7 Psalm 139:23–24 Psalm 34:4 Proverbs 29:25 Psalm 27:1 Deuteronomy 31:6 Isaiah 41:10 Philippians 1:21 Listen in and reflect: Where is fear keeping you from trusting and obeying God? 180churchtn.com
