WEEKLY FOLLOW-UP | The Only Kingdom Left Standing
This weekend in our summer series, Enemy Territory: Daniel’s Defiant Faith. To follow up after the weekend messages, Pastor Brandon sits down with Jared Fernandez to talk about the weekend message, After the Amen. KEY MOMENTS At 4:00, Jared and Pastor Brandon open the discussion in a fun way by talking through some of the weirdest dreams they have ever had. At 10:18, Pastor Brandon asks Jared about what the ”goal” of a sermon should be for the Pastor preaching as well as the mindset those hearing a sermon should have. At 17:55, Jared opens about where he has personally seen the tension of feeling the stress of the temporary things versus zooming out to focus on what actually lasts forever. At 24:56, Pastor Brandon follows up by asking that if we know that the Lord is with us in the process, why do we remain unsatisfied by it? WEEKLY FOLLOW-UP | When Conviction Becomes Reality
This weekend we started our summer series, Enemy Territory: Daniel’s Defiant Faith. To follow up after the weekend messages, Pastor Brandon sits down with Pastor Paul Hunter to talk about the weekend message, After the Amen. KEY MOMENTS At 7:45, they discuss more on the topic of being assimilated to American culture. Pastor Brandon asks about how as a member of a church to hold church leaders accountable while still trusting their leadership. At 22:00, during the weekend message, Pastor Paul said, “You don’t lose your faith in a moment. You give it away one compromise at a time.” They discuss how we can do a better job at recognizing the small consequences as they come at us personally. At 27:57, Pastor Brandon brought up Pastor Paul’s “line in the sand” analogy and asked how we can know where that line is? HOW TO IDENTIFY YOUR LINE: ASK YOURSELF THESE QUESTIONS… 1. Does this require me to PARTICIPATE in sin, or just EXIST in a sinful world? 2. Does this compromise my PRIMARY allegiance? 3. Would participating in this require me to LIE about who I am? 4. Is this something the Gospel CLEARLY addresses? 5. Would choosing this require me to ACTIVELY DISHONOR God? At 35:09, with the theme of this series being “strangers in a strange land” Pastor Paul talks through how to reach people around us without being shaped by them. WEEKLY FOLLOW-UP | Young Leaders Weekend
This weekend we concluded our Young Leaders Weekend, where four of our young leaders—Colton Payne, Liam Smith, Brandon Circucci, and Jared Fernandez—preached on the theme “Reach Without Limits.” To follow up after the weekend messages, Pastor Brandon sits down with Pastor Joel Guinan to talk about impacting the next generation and how every believer—no matter their age—can live on mission, After the Amen. KEY MOMENTS Pastor Joel opens this week’s episode by sharing his calling to student ministry, why he’s devoted 18 years to it, and how coming to Christ at almost 17 gave him a deep burden to disciple the years that shape a person’s entire trajectory. At 12:00, Pastor Joel and Pastor Brandon unpack how Scripture consistently shows God using both the very young and the very old. They also explain how children, students, and young adults are not “the church of tomorrow,” but the church of today. At 23:30, Pastor Joel talks through 1 Corinthians 11:1, they explain that discipleship isn’t perfection but authenticity—inviting others into your real, imperfect life as you follow Jesus, apologizing, repenting, and letting people see you grow. At 35:30, They expose how the enemy uses “paper wall” limits—age, inexperience, background, fear—to keep believers off the battlefield and call every Christian (young or old) to step into the mission God has already equipped them for. At 40:00, Pastor Brandon and Pastor Joel give a call to older generations to disciple the young through stories of current leaders in our church. This weekend we continued our sermon series about having honest faith in hard times. Pastor Paul Hunter spoke about the questions How Do I Keep Going? To follow up after the weekend message, Pastor Brandon sits down with Pastor Paul to discuss the topic further, After the Amen. At 16:41, Pastor Paul continues to breakdown Jesus’ anguish and why it is important for us to process the humanity of Jesus. At 22:44, Pastor Paul goes through a list of some of the “warning signs” to look for to see if you have lost sight of your “why.” At 31:10, Pastor Brandon points out how Pastor Paul wanted to say more on the “nevertheless” in principle 3, and your feelings versus your faith. At 39:12, Pastor Paul closes this week’s podcast by speaking to those who still feel or are struggling to trust in God during difficult seasons.
