The Relationship That Taught Me Boundaries
What happens when the relationships you thought were meant to last become the relationships that teach you the most? In this first episode of Life in Layers, I’m talking about the relationships that taught me some of my hardest lessons about boundaries, self-worth, and choosing peace. I share what I’ve learned about: • Recognizing patterns of self-abandonment • Overextending yourself to keep relationships together • The guilt that can come with needing space • Learning the difference between familiarity and love • Setting boundaries without abandoning yourself • Choosing peace, even when peace feels unfamiliar This conversation is personal because these are lessons I’m still carrying with me. But sometimes the things that hurt us also show us where we need to grow. Reflection What boundary have you been afraid to set because you’re afraid of what might happen if you do? Give yourself permission to sit with that question. If this episode encouraged you, share it with someone who may need the reminder that they aren't walking this journey alone. And if you're enjoying Life in Layers, I'd love for you to follow the podcast and leave a review. It helps these conversations reach the people who need them most. Keep healing out loud. Keep growing intentionally. And remember... healing doesn’t happen all at once. It happens, layer by layer. 💜
